Wow, i can not believe that Yates is in the middle of the pack and beating some great courses.  That makes me very excited to see my baby getting some props.

John

WYE's only weakness when compared to the other courses in town is the fact that it's a junior course. As far as shot versatility, aesthetics, and fun, there's no way it's not in the Top 10.

Wow, what a great thread.  It has been forever since I have been on here, especially since moving back to the states and not living in KC any longer.

1. Waterworks - One of the best courses I have played anywhere, period.
2. Swope - My old home course where I learned to throw it straight.
3. Blue Valley - Love the par 4s and 5s as it really tests most of the shots in your bag.
4. Cliff Drive - good course but no way I can put it above the first three.
5. Rosedale - good course to learn to throw a Roc...unfortunately you don't need a whole lot more than that.
6. Wyco - Tee it high and let it fly. Throw it 400'+ and straight or hyzer and you score nicely.
7. Centennial Park(Lawrence) - Not really KC but close enough and a good variety of shots here.
8. Pleasant Hill - Played it my last time back.  Again a good Roc couse
9.Down Under - A little frustrating seeing good shots end up bad and vice versa.
10. William Yates - Great pitch and putt kids course, introduced my 10 year old cousin to DG here.
Put down your shiny new speedy driver and learn to throw the Roc!

8, 9 & 10 Intentionally left blank.  I'd have to list courses outside of Kansas City for them to be considered favorites.  The rest of the courses in town are not on my favorites list in any way shape or form.

1. The Down Under
2. Water Works
3. Cliff Drive
4. Wyco
5. Swope
6. Pleasant Hill
7. Dick Parker's Mini Golf Course ;)
8.
9.
10.

A top ten from a long time KCFDC member and well traveled player....

1. Waterworks (no explanation needed)
2. Wyco (come out on a mid-summer Friday league and see for yourself)
3. Swope (ancient trees, really kewl steel box clubhouse, and tossing across valleys=fun)
4. Prairie Center (well maintained, multiple CONCRETE tees on 5 holes, multiple pin locations, close to brown bag and my house, nuff said)
5. Rosedale top (central location right off I-35, great shot variation, classic course)
6. Cliff Drive (awesome mix of holes, will prolly move up my list once Jack quits messing around and pours some concrete and finalizes the layout, but even as is, a super course)
7. Blue Valley (needs carts, but the views and magnitude are amazing)
8. P Hill (a lake, albino wallabys, screaming monkeys, and a really pleasent park)
9. Shawnee Mission (needs boxes and less armed rangers)
10. WYE (never been there but based on all my friends reports, it has to be better than California Trail, and DU has just too much of the luck element for my taste)

And, like I've said before, any course I'm on is my favorite at the time and I think it's so sweet to live in a metro with soooo many great courses and so many fun dg folks. We are truly blessed.

With all the new data added this is the most current...

TOP TEN LIST!!!!!!
# 10  Shawnee Mission Park - Just beating out William Yates Elementary by 3 points!
#  9   Pleasant Hill - With its new layout I'd guess this one could get some new votes in the future
#  8   Prairie Center - Another of those courses "Soon to Change" I'm curious where this will fall
#  7   Down Under (rosy) - Bring out your Roc's and Putters for this one
#  6   Blue Valley - Are we there yet????  N E E D W A T E R

What do you think Paul?   Think Water is what's in those bottles??

uhhh...

#  5   WYCO - Possibly the most beautiful park in Kansas City Kansas
#  4   Swope - The oldest course in KC
#  3   UP TOP (rosy) - Where EVERYONE goes .. EVERYONE.. seriously, go to another park once a while.
#  2   Cliff Drive - NO TPADS??? AND ITS # 2!!!!!!   You people are drunk

and the # 1 course to play while in Kansas City........
(drumroll.....)

1  WATER WORKS PARK - Folks if you haven't played this course yet then you're missing out on what a 3 time World Champion (no barry)((who did that?)) calls one of his FAVORITE courses in America!!!

Thanks to everyone who put in their input so far.  As I get more data I will update this list for whatever purpose it may serve in the future...

It would be cool to see this thread come alive again with all the changes that have come in over the last year and a half.  To that end:

1 ) Cliff
2 ) Water Works
3 ) Swope
4 ) Blue Valley
5 ) WyCO
6 ) Rosedale Top
7 ) Pleasant Hill
8 ) Shawnee Mission Park
9 ) Olathe
10 ) Yates

Apologies to Legacy and the new Blue Springs course - I still need to get out there and play.

How many freakin' courses do we have here now, anyway?  And how many are in the works?

Holy resurrected thread, Batman! :o

My Top Ten has changed dramatically:

1. Cliff Drive
2. Swope
3. Water Works
4. Rosedale up top
5. Pleasant Hill
6. Old Pike
7. Down Under
8. William Yates
9. Blue Valley
10. Legacy

Honorables to SMP and WYCO, and I'm sure Young Park will displace Legacy on my list once it becomes established. 8)
