A lot of discussion boards have classifieds/marketplace forums where members can wheel and deal with one another. Disc golfers trade discs all the time (another reason why this sport is so cool), and I think a centralized "trading post" would be a great addition to this board.

I think a disc golf trading forum would be a great idea around here.  Both the pdga board and the discgolfreview board have had a great deal of success with it.  Top that off with our lack of a PIAS or other used retailer in this city, and it seems like the only way for people to get plastic they don't throw out of their house.

There was a used sporting goods store at around North Oak & 72nd St, but not sure if it's PIAS, or whether it's even there anymore.

Um, please don't forget Disc Golf World (downtown) and Red-X in Riverside.

DGW doesn't sell used discs.  Rick has talked about it, but I didn't think he had done anything in that direction yet.

This other store does sell used plastic?  That would be great; I need to find some thrashed Rocs, and don't feel like driving to Columbia.

I spoke with a guy who wants to put in a PIAS in south OP... He didn't say when, just that he wanted to.

Red-X used to be the spot for cheap booze and cigarettes, but I had no idea they carried disc golf stuff.

I believe there is a PIAS about to open next to the new Staples at 135th and Metcalf?

Not sure if it's open but it shows up on their webpage:

It was but I'm pretty sure it's long gone.

How bout someone organize a swap meet at Boulevard Drive-In?...tie it into a tournement at Rosedale later on in the day.  Call it one man's trash is another man's treasure - open.

Sounds like there might be some demand, so, we will offer store credit for used discs. Details to be announced. We won't be buying back found discs in which no attempt to contact the owner has been made or where the owner's name has been blacked out.

The guy (and I can't recall his name now) planning the PIAS in OP stopped by a couple or 3 months back to learn more about disc golf. He seemed to be a pretty good guy who understood the concept of community we try to engender by returning lost discs to their rightful owners. He'll likely have a selection of new discs also, although he's not purchased any from us yet.
