Doubles/Mixed Doubles Interest?

I was talking w/ Lynn at DGW last friday, and she mentioned how neat it would be to have a mixed doubles league.  I know my wife would be for it, and that would be good because then I could play league 2x's a week .

So has there or was there ever an interest in something like this?  Even if it was a thing where we only played every other week.  What day of the week would be the best?

Just and idea, I know it would be a way to introduce more wives, girlfriends, daughters, friends, to the game.

Jack or Rick, what do we need to do go about finding the interest of this?  I'd be happy to help or even coordinate this league if we were to move forward with it.

That I saw, but we need to gain more people participating, and having that type of style, BV would be as much fun for the casual player, we would better serve the players by having it at Swope, IMHO.

Should I try to send out a email via Topica linking people back over here to see if they have any interest?  Maybe set up a poll with a couple questions, A. Is it a bad idea.  B. What course?

I know we are running out of summer league time but if we can get a little something started, maybe that can carry over into next years line up.

Howabout something like the homey skins with a traveling trophy week to week.  With the worst scores deciding the next weeks destination.

Try and avoid homey skins for another year or so if you just started playing  They will eat you alive.

Tues. or Thurs. would work best for us.  Anna's schedule can get mixed up a little, but for now............

I dont want to see this as a beginner only Doubles league.  I really would like to see all different skill levels involved if possible.

I heard a rumor there used to be a Sunday doubles league, whatever happened to that?  How would Sunday mid mornings work?

I'd like to make it at least $10 a team (so we could win gas money coming from Lawrence).  

Right now i work on sundays till noon, but i still could play if it was at Clinton State Park.

There're plenty of formats to tinker with we should just start playing and let those that show decide.  IMO it doesen't need to have a set way in the beginning.

Usually it's best ball, but there is a Alternate shot format which is just that every other shot is taken by the other teammate.  You can also play doubles, but every player, plays their own disc all the way through the hole and you score the best score from your team.

What about Saturday mornings 10:30 tee off?

There's also worst shot, and we could do a match play doubles format.

I might vote to play 6-best 6-worst 6-alternate on the long courses.

There's always just good ol' skins too.

You can play best score doubles, handicaped singles, and individual skins or doubles skins all at the same time!
