Drive for Show Putt for Dough?

Does that hold true in DG like it does in ball golf?  I've been reading around on several other forums the last couple weeks, and it certainly seems like alot of DGer's spend a great deal of time talking about drivers.

As a beginner I've tried to keep that saying in my head when I tee off, making sure to throw a straight controled drive.  But am I missing it, is driving really where the good scores come from in DG?

like ball golf the one with the lowest score at the end is the winner. ever notice how the best ball golfers do everything well? if you focus only on one aspect other parts of your game can suffer. and yes, improving your putting can shave a lot of strokes off your score.
fly dyed discs are cool, don't know of anyone doing that around these parts. don't know how easy it would be to do it either. one of their main characteristics is how well camouflaged they can be in the thinnest of local flora.

So your saying they are easy to loose

yes they are easy to lose, but nice to find without a name on them when looking for your own disc.
they don't stand up well to mowing attachnments either if you toss one where the tractor is headed and he gets there before you.

I'd say that like ball golf, accuracy and recovery skills prevail.
Choke your drive, make sure your up-shot is close.
Miss your approach, get the putt in.

Something that helped me was to realize when you are just starting out that Par is your freind!

I've figured out lots of stuff since first posting this, and your last statement cannot be said better.  Par is my friend now an occasional birdie doesn't hurt either.  Mostly what I try on every hole I throw is stay away from 4+, and dont miss short putts.
