Has anyone ever played a game like horseshoes using a frisbee and taller posts with bottles on top of them?

No but I've played a game like Horseshoes using Washers and these wooden boxes that you have to toss the washer into.  It's an extremely fun camping game.

Actually, us country bumpkins out here in Western Kansas play it as a drinking game. There are many ways to play and the rules/points can be flexible. Here are the rules: You need two people per team. Each team will defend their respective pole. The poles will have empty beer bottles on top and the players must have a beer in hand. Team A throws at team B's pole. If team A misses the pole, Team B can get a point by catching the disc before it hits the ground. However team B can not interfere with the disc until it is "a clear miss." If team A hits the pole, they get a point. If they hit the pole and knock the bottle to the ground, they get an additional two points for a total of three. If team B catches the disc but not the bottle, team A only earns two points. However, if team B catches the falling beer bottle, team A only gets a point. If team B catches the bottle and the disc before either hit the ground, team B gets the 3 points and team A gets none. That's how we score the points, you can make your own rules on when to drink.

so.. are the beers on the posts full?  Because that sounds like alcohol abuse!
