Drove thru yesterday after work. We coudl see 1-5, 7 from the road so I assume the front nine is in?!
There was even a guy teeing off the pad on #1.

Yes 1-9 are in. There are some issues with the texture on holes 1-4, apparently they cured too fast in the heat before they got brushed. We will be discussing ways to correct these surfaces in the near future. We hope to get 10-18 in next week.

The same thing nearly happened to #10 and #18 at Cliff. Those two pads had more time elapse between pouring and finishing than the other pads, and their finishes aren't as aggressive. It's nothing to worry about, it won't even be a problem, but it is noticeable. Hope the pad issues at SMP get resolved and that they come out looking almost as nice as ours... ;D

our "HOT PINK ROC'S" are cool.....I am sure that the SMP folks will make the course work fine, they really don't do anything  except excellent work there in the park afterall.

This week is not as hot, so hopefully they will be easier to get done.

Are they having colored concrete at SMP as well, or just traditional gray?

they don't have neighborhood concerns with hot pink rocks, they have concerns over deer eating their shrubberies and flowers..... ;D

Yes, I forgot about the deer. Perhaps they can get some barber shop sweepings mixed into the concrete, I hear that can keep the deer away... :D

7-7-09 Update

Played tonight and there are only four holes without tee pads now.
10, 11, 12 and 16

In other words they poured 12, 13, 14 15, 17 and 18 today.
They were dry enough to throw from at 5:00 - 6:30 pm

BTW - as for the texture; holes 1-4 are a little rough but not so much that the impact play.
The pads that were finished yesterday (12-15, 17-18) are nicely finished!

I had absolutely no issues with 1-4 in terms of surface.   

Is P&R going to do backfill, or is that something we can/will/should do?

Actually 9 is in, and they shortened the hole considerable. I believe it was 510' before, my guess is it is maybe 350' at the most now.

10, 11, 12 and 16 are all yhat remained to be framed and poured.

And for what it worth.....I agree, once we get the P&R to drop in multiple pin placements, it will be a great course.
Just visualizing these pins stretched or placed a little tougher positions makes me think about how much tougher this course can get.
However, it's still young (less than 2 years?) and it already has pads.....kcfdc rocks, we should all stop and reflect on what we have here
in KC.
