WW Work Days
« on: June 05, 2015, 03:32:32 pm »
Calling all volunteers! Water Works needs your help!

I am focusing on Sunday next weekend (the 14th) for the big push from 10-1. Having said that if anyone has time during the week, I am free. I am really looking for a pickup to load up with mulch from the lower parking lot and get it out where needed.

Other work will be cleaning up the broken areas of the the walls and painting the OB lines, doing what erosion control we can with downed limbs, improving the "stair" from 5 to 6 (the rain took its toll), and any other areas that you see fit to clean up/improve. As always we will pull trash too!

I will paint the 10 meter circles the week of the event (hopefully right after a dry spell and a fresh mow).

Thanks in advance!

Count on lunch, drinks, and a round of golf afterwards.

Thanks Nova!

All others please bring shovels (for loading, not digging), work gloves, and some energy! Thank you

Wouldn't that be "unloading"?  Or "Loading" the pads/pins with mulch, I guess either way is ok, but yeah not for digging, but for throwing mulch around!

I don't have a shovel, but I've got work boots and gloves, and I can stand around watching people shovel things out of my pickup like a seasoned pro from the Department of Transportation.  ;D

I will be out there with the z71 ready and mobile to go anywhere. we will need a chainsaw (I think mills mentioned he has one) for the two huge limbs on 2 and 9, or enough people to drag it somewhere. it was too large for two people to handle
if its anything worth doing, its worth doing right

I will get a hold of Doug Keehler. He has a club owned pole saw and chain saw in his possession for working on Blue Valley. If he's not actively using them that day we can get them out there.

So the KCFDC community is, as always, incredible! Thanks to Mark No Sleep Mills, Beast Kujo (kickin ass in general), Nova Pick Up some mulch, Nick Chainsaw Wink, Dan Mulch Rake Howard, and VP Nate Zier. Plus me that is 21 hours of great work at WW. Everyone showed up to get something done. Followed it up with lunch, drinks, and a few holes of WW.

There's still a bit more to do but most of it is done.

Thank you!

The batter-fried mushrooms were terrific.
