Played the Old Pike course for the first time today. The course is near 169 and Vivion on Old Pike Road just past the home depot. What a nice surprise! A fun and challenging nine holes. I managed even par with a two and a four. My drive caught chains on hole four... 247 through a window in the trees about half way.

Hole one tee and hole seven are a bit tricky to find the first time but there is a helpful course map near the parking area. A link to the same map is below.
I had the pleasure of speaking with the grounds manager who has been installing the course. He had just put numbered flags on the baskets and will be putting in crushed rock tee pads. Anyone is welcome to play any time. The sign says private but that's for the pool and tennis courts and such. They have a league or gathering on Wednesdays about 7:00 PM. He also said that course designer Gregg Hosfeld played the course this week and had given positive feedback.

Hole 1 323' uphill hyzer.
Hole 2 495' downhill multiple routes with low ceiling. A little too low maybe. Had to make a par saving putt on that one.
Hole 3 407' slight downhill over entrance road. Lefty friendly.
Hole 4 247' through window in trees.
Hole 5 309' through window. Gnarly if you don't make it through I found out.
Hole 6 227' downhill hyzer.
Hole 7 235' flat hyzer along tree line.
Hole 8 282' slight downhill anhyzer/straight with back yards along the left and trouble on the right.
Hole 9 226' tight anhyzer along pond. The water definitely comes into play for righties.
Also played the front 18 at Jackson Park in Atchison for the first time this weekend. Wow! It just gets better and better around here... that is one beautiful park and worth the drive. It did look like there is a lot of ivy in the park.
