Ball Golf/Disc Golf Challenge!!!
« on: August 14, 2009, 10:34:26 AM »
Brian Gammon is going to instigate a ball golf/disc golf challenge on Sunday, August 23.  The format is a little in the air as yet, I think probably skins or doubles would be most appropriate, I think we'll probably do doubles.

August 23 around 9:00AM will be the ball golf part at Sunflower Hills, which is the ball golf course right next to Wyco.  Then we'll play a round of disc golf at Wyco. The starting time for golf is as yet undetermined, as we have to get tee times yet, and we need to see what's available.  It may be that we do the disc golf first, if we can't get ball golf tee times in the morning.  Be flexible! :)

Anyway, we're gonna take the first 12 people that are interested and willing to plunk down the $$$.  $35 is the entry fee, most of which is going into green fees for Sunflower Hills. Carts will be used for the ball golf round, although I don't think they'll let us take them across the street for disc golf. :)  If this works out, we may try it again at Swope later in the fall.

We have 8 spots left:

Brian Gammon
Chappy
Ted
Brian Gammon's friend from work

are in.

Jack and Otto are probables.

Chappy,
I had similar thoughts after playing in a ball golf scramble recently.
I realize the reason for picking Sunflower but Painted Hills plays much faster and gives more time for a round of disc golf the same day unless it is ball golf on Saturday and disc golf on Sunday or vice versa.
I may be in once more info comes forth.

dang....I'd be interested, but, am going to be out of town that weekend.  I spoke to Dave Walker and he sounded pretty interested about getting in.

Green fees will be $26 which will include a cart! The rest of the entry fee to be paid out in cash prizes. Tee times for Sunflower will be around noon or just after in order to get this cheap of a rate! So I would say we will need to start our random draw doubles at Wy-Co no later than 8:30. I have to book and pay for these tee times in advance to get this rate, so I need you to be commited to paying once you tell me you are in. Any questions call me at 816-682-8864.

Glover, you're in.
Dick, you're in.
Otto, you're in.
C.J., you're in.

Tee times start at 11:40 on Sunday at Sunflower Hills.

We have our compliment of 12 people, and we can't get any more tee times at Sunflower Hills, so we're full. See y'all Sunday.

Otto told me Buckle took his spot.
This will be fun.
I'm going to suggest having a longest drive, longest putt and CTP for the ball golf portion.
I've come up with some last minute prizes.
