2009 DayGlow Results
« on: November 01, 2009, 11:29:30 AM »
44 came out for the 2009 DayGlow at Ted's Dread. 28 played both rounds. There was quite a bit of feedback regarding the format. If we use the Ted's Dread course again the day and night rounds may become separate events. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the course and the event.

The course was in great shape. Thanks to the Kubickis and friends for all the work done to get it ready. What an awesome place to golf. The chicken and ribs provided were outta this world and a bit hit with all. Thank you for your hospitality Kubicki family!!

Thanks to TJ Ring for taking care of the sign up and scoring. Thanks Jamie for stepping in and helping too.

The weather couldn't have been any better. The near full moon lit the way during our glow round and we hardly needed any lights to see where we were walking.

Bobby Villarreal was the only person to finish under par for the day and finished 12 shots better than anyone else. Nice Bobby! Five people shot better in the dark than they did the first round.

The only negative was Dick's dog disappearing. Hopefully Cheer is with you and safe now Dick!

No aces during play. Hal Kurz took half the pool on a ctp.

I do have good news.  Cheer is back with us today.   After staying up the entire night and still yet to get one wink of sleep, then having Kate and her good friend Tinna come out and spending 15 hours looking for her...  at 1:30pm she strolled into a very nice families yard, 12 miles away (10 miles west 2 miles south) and luckily her collar stayed on the entire trip and they were able to call us.  The drive to get to the house was 15 minutes on gravel roads and then dirt roads to the ONLY house on the ENTIRE street.

She had sticktights the size of golfballs and a smell only a mother can love (not me).  After this I will watch cheer alot closer when I see the fireworks come out.  Don't plan on seeing cheer this week at any leagues or rounds.  She is in the DOG HOUSE as they say.

Also during that crazy 8:00pm hour when everything went wrong.  Someone took my PURPLE duct tape out of my bag and was never returned.  Please give that to Ted or show up to league and return this to me. It was a brand new roll (even tho I know that crap isn't any good in the cold)  and I would like it back.

I found three discs in my 15 hour hunt as well.

JuJu driver or whatever those things are with no name
Angie Biondo 166 white Wraith
Nick Wink's 175 Green Destroyer.  They are in my car so just remind me you want them.

glad u found your dog dude. I need to make sophie start wearing her collar and tags again, as she too is prone to going retarded every once in a while and wondering off. very bad feeling when u are out looking for a dog...don't punish her too bad-she probably had a pretty rough night out there in the dark!

Fred- cool thanks.

Spencer- I didn't punish her at all.  She got a bath and is seriously in a coma right now.  She has a little be of arthritis so her back legs are having problems, but a week of rest will cure those old legs.  I highly suggest at least having your dogs tags on.  This is what got her back.  Nothing more.  after reliving the whole thing with kate later we also figured her away time was 18.5 hours.  8pm- 1:30pm.  Which most of that for me was spent in the woods and on the street.   Also, MICOCHIP you dog.  They can GPS your dog online if need be.

Woot! Was a good time as always. Thanks to all who came and participated. I think the water level in the pond went up by at least 3 inches with all the plastic in it.

Don't listen to Teddy Crocker. Day-Glow is always 2 rounds! It was just tougher this year because it actually fell on Halloween. If your pussycat hurts, they make lotion for that now! Use some.
