New Berm on #9

#9 has new mega-dirt berm in front of the big pine tree... Nice addition to the park.

On a sad note...all the down under t-box dirt IS the new berm.

Actually the dirt was not the Down Under dust you're referring to. Jay Rivard donated the dirt, shaping of the dirt and seeding to change the landscape of the hole and it truly does change more than half the shots to the pins on the East side of the mound. Jay worked with the KCK Parks department and got approval for this project. We are looking at a new tribute pin setting like the USDGC decorative block in a round configuration about three feet high so the basket will be elevated with trouble all around for anyone who chooses to run a put, risk/reward so to speak. this will go on the mound after we get with Jim Sherwood on the placement. This is the second Tribute hole at Rosedale Park, the first being the pin in the stump on hole 8 is a take off from Sandy Point Disc Golf course in Wisconsin.

Very nice berm!
My only comment is two trim the branches of the trees to the left of the opening to the long, long positions (present).
I crushed a drive almost over the berm, that's REAL long for me. Only problem is the branches on the left tree now almost touch the berm and leave no shot.

Not a huge deal and don't mean to take away from the coolness of the berm.

absolutely right too many pins on this hole and we will remove one or two as we make room for this placement after we get with Jim Sherwood.

haven't been able to see this yet, but this sounds sweet! in my opinion this is something that needs to be adopted on many more courses as it makes players make clear choices, go for it and risk missing, or voluntarily give up a stroke laying up... good work guys

I'm heading out there this afternoon to play a round.  I am looking forward to seeing what this is like.  I am really glad to be seeing some changes to our courses that keep the interest level.

Anything like the new berm that improves or sets our course apart from the others is AWESOME! Good Work! and Good Donation! If a contractor can donate fill dirt, equipment time, fuel, and man hours then you would think the worthless Parks People could fill a sink hole!

Just a positive suggestion here, grass seed alone will not succeed in growing if just placed on compacted clay, it's gonna need top soil and a lot of water come spring.
