Swope Pin Settings

#11 will be the middle pin from the long tee, only to keep people on #10 for throwing on the people teeing on #11.  The rest will be played from the short tees.  The only one I see that still needs moved is #17, which I'd like moved to the blue pin.

For those who played CC last year, #12 is shorter (easier birdie), and #17 is a longer (tougher birdie), but otherwise, it's the same course.

Swope pin settings are almost settled for the wide open and pins will start moving to the appropriate spots. The numbers are going to shuffle a bit since 3&4 are not being played.
Here is a rundown of what to expect.

1. Long - Set and ready to go
2. Extra Long - Not sure if it's gonna be a temp or need a new placement.
3. Left - Normal Hole 5 - set and rtg.
4. Temp Hole 1 - Safari hole, pin is good needs basket hauled wtf out there.
5. Temp hole 2 - Fence line anyhyzer, pin is good needs basket hauled wtf out.
6. Temp hole 3 - Short anhyzer island hole. pin is good needs basket.
7. Long - Normal hole 6 - needs moved
8. ? - NH7 - not sure
9. Long - NH8 - Normally the practice basket next to clubhouse. Set and rtg.
10. Short - NH9 - shorty basket is set but needs to be raised.
11. Middle - NH10 - Not as cool with big tree gone, but still is set and rtg.
12. Very long - NH11 - Pin placement over the hill, will keep it in normal long until week of tourney.
13. Right - NH12 - Basket needs to be leveled but other than that is rtg.
14. Long in Woods - NH13 - Set and rtg
15. Left across the road and long - NH14 - short tee pad, will keep a red basket on right side of road when it is set.
16. Long Corner - Alternate tee from near gregory - Basket not set.
17. Left - Alternate tee near 16 middle placement - basket not set.
18. Middle - Set and rtg.

Think that is right.

To whom ever moves baskets....

I would like to have a double check that we have 27 baskets in place out there and that the placements do not move after Tuesday the 20th.  Eric and I will be laying out the Ace Race config about that time and need it ready by then.  I know you guys are always on top of things, but Lee mentioned something about having to get some extra baskets out of storage???

The baskets in storage are in the city parks building next to swope. I'll get them out this week. Then there will be 9 red baskets to go with the 18 regular ones.

We don't need keys, just need the baskets set and left in the same spot until after Ace Race....nothing is movning at lunch and we will make the course flow around the baskets wherever you put them.

Not sure when the pins will be getting moved, but wanted to volunteer my time from 5 to before league to help move whatever pins need to for the WO.

Awesome!  I'll be there around 5:20 and we'll move some of them!  Keep in mind we won't be moving the ones out to the north tonight as I need to put in an additonal pin placement out there first.

Vince and Chris, Thanks. I am out of town until Friday, but will work with Chris to get it set in WO configuration over the weekend. Thanks to everyone, Stiles (Glauzinizer and Jim "Slim" Neal), for their help with trash and what not. They are ocnstantly working on that course. On the D.L.,  Dan Cashen and Pete Engleman work tirelessly on beautification and practicalities as well.

I think we only moved about 6 of them and a large majority have to be moved to get the numbering right with the holes to the north.  I think I heard Timko say something about getting a Gator to help with that effort.  Jack helped with the basket relocation too.

It was nice to be able to play the new pin placements in league, like 13 long, 14 long pad to 15 peninsula.

Yep....It is going to be a fun set up.  Hopefully it will be set for league next week in the Wide Open configuration.
A little sneak peak.....
1--play 1 long, surrounded by OB, double Mando off Pad
2--play 2 long, with OB both sides of fairway, and ob behind pin
3--play to #3 middle (just before Road) OB right/left, all the way up to road
4--play from #4 pad to #5 left long pin position.  OB all the way up the fairway right, and Road, tappering towards pin and behind pin

5--Following Gregory (should be Elmwood? ~CD~), on west side of fairway, all the way, pin on an island, OB Right all the way up, 3 roads OB on the way
6--throw across "lake" shortest from pad, easier area ~210', farther down, skinnier fairway, close to 400' to clear must clear the little "bushes" from the pad or re-tee
7--short little Island shot, drop zone if you miss, by Parks Building
8--Plays #6 long with OB all over it
9--plays to #7 which is an island green, either on the green or drop zone, drop zone right by double mando :-)
10--plays to #8 (OB is around shack only)
11--plays #9 short--then go to #11 Short pad, skip hole #10
12--plays to #11 long (the come backer' pin for those in the know!  ps, you're old if you get it) OB right all the way up the fairway
13--plays to #12 right, standard OB rules, road and across
14--plays #13 long, you are on the only "inbounds" location on that side of the road, OB will be the road on the other side, or the OB line all the way up the fairway in the woods.  If your tee shot goes OB, you go to Drop (short pad)
15--plays from #14 long, to #15 pin across the road.  Past the rocks is OB, and there is a drop zone for your second shot, regular OB rules on your drive.  You must be on the Island after second shot, unless you are still inbounds.  When you go to throw on the island, if you don't make it, go to drop zone.  If you hit the basket and roll off the island, you go to drop if you are throwing across the road....get it?  :-)
16--Will be the corner from Gregory like last year, to long #16 with OB all the way up on the right, and OB road on the left.
17--Left placement, OB behind it all around.
18--Middle placement with OB on both sides of Fairways.

All Rocks will be OB, from the outer edge essentially, it will be lined up OB.

It hasn't been moved because it is the more challenging shot. Without the guardian trees on the left position, it is either a 2 or a 3, while the right position is a 2,3, or 4. But, yeah, I'll move it and thanks for the request. Just FYI as to why it hasn't been moved. Otherwise, I have set the course pretty short for now. 
I'll be out there tomorrow to prep for league and get the trash.
