Ice Bowl 2010

Wasn't so stoked about not being able to turn in my scorecard and not being able to play the second round. I think next year I'm just going to pay and get my disc, and skip playing.

I agree, we haven't played the second round the last few years, people are still on the course at 3pm

Maybe we need to go to two courses next year?

We have 2 courses, Down Under and up top.....this is a "competition LIGHT"  event, heavy on the fun of the Ice Bowl, and disc golf.  If you really can't stand your group for the entire 3-4 hour round, then you might want to reconsider who you play disc golf with......

Had a great time, met some new people, and enjoyed it all!

Jack your chili was very good!I had a blast ,my card never had to wait Oyeah that was mini golf.I was blown away by all the people that showed up .This really was good times.Thanks KC for letting me hang with yall.

Get there early and go play DU.  We flew through it and started down there about 9:00.  At times we would not see any other groups in front or behind. Maybe the guys behind were really slow and backing things up, but DU is the way to go.  No wind and the ground stays frozen longer becuase of all the shade. 

Thanks again for everyone who supported Ice Bowl and put up with the barely controlled chaos that seems to be a hallmark of the KC Ice Bowl the last few years. I don't think enough people knew that playing Down Under was an option. After sorting through the paperwork and counting the moolah, I hope to have a full report posted out here in a day or two. I  pretty sure we raised a very nice stash of cash for Bishop Sullivan Center.

Getting people out for round 2 was done accomplished very smoothly. I apologize to those who didn't get to play the second round. We've begun to formulate plans to make this less likely to happen last year.

Here's a curious weather fact I discovered when checking the range of temperatures yesterday (22° to 39°): exactly one year ago on January 31, 2009, the temp topped out at 72°. That's an Ice Bowl I can live with any time!

After posting this, the accounting phase begins and will report on our charitable donations when that is done. Below is a list of the people who made the Kansas City Ice Bowl happen by buying a package or contributing in some other way. It's a long list that contains 402 names. If you see mistakes or missing names, let me know. (We had to make some educated guesses with some of the handwriting!) We would love to reach 400 people for Ice Bowl 2010. Don't be a wimp and be part of Ice Bowl 2010 in Kansas City...a mere $15 will not only get you a disc and mini-set, but will remove you from the wimp list

First things first, the second place chili was incredible. I ate three bowls of it. You remember, the tall aluminum pot on the ground everyone was talking about. Super smoky yet spicy flavor. Wow!

Great job to Rick, Dick, Tracy, Billy, and Kelly, (for the heckling) plus everyone else who made the biggest Ice Bowl to date a success!
However some of the spirit of Ice Bowl seems to have been lost in the grandeur of KC disc golf(insert sarcasm). Yes, you need to plan to play your round when there are 400+players on the courses in one day! It is very likely it will take some time, so like Jack said, play it with people you like.

The irony is killing me. WE have this amazing club and community that makes these great events happen, and we are TOO successful at it. Did somebody say MOST FUN WINS! My rant is over

This was one of the best Ice Bowls for me because of all the familiar faces I saw. We all came out of the woodwork to stand around in the January sun to raise some dough and enjoy our community! Great job everybody!

I had a great time at Ice Bowl. I thought it went real smooth. I did hear a troubling report of some weenee turning in a score for the first round when he didn't even play the first round. That's almost as 
weak as me using 51 mulligans.

As a two Ice bowl attendee this year so far though, I think it would be a good idea to call out the wimps that didn't show.
