new member--spammer? bot?
« on: February 04, 2010, 06:29:35 PM »
xandderman sent me a PM today, (opened with hello, friend) saying there has been virus activity from my PC the last few days.  sadly, this is likely wrong information, since that name was registered TODAY!!!

KMont, or whoever, how about checking that out and helping with an unsubscription?

thanks!

Not to mention whoever posted the porn link yesterday...glad to see it was taken off quickly.  If that type of stuff keeps popping up, my job's internet police will have this site blocked in a heartbeat.  Dont want that to happen.  Thanks admins!

Yep, definitely a spammer. There has been quite the rash of them lately. We may have to go to a more secure approval method for membership to the forum if this keeps up.

The offending account has been deleted and the IP address blocked.

Kevin, I have to do that at DGR.  I go through between 50-80 accounts a day, with 10% being legitimate users, and the other 90% being spambots.
