Am divisions seem to be getting a lot bigger. Is this a result of the price increase for open or just a coincidence? I don't really care other than it might be interesting to do some sort of survey of people to see if that is the reason that they are choosing to not play open and compare what open payouts are this year, with the higher prices, versus what they would be with the 'probable open players' for a $5 entry fee just to see if the increase really makes it more worth it for open or not.

Out of those in Advanced, Dan is the only one who regularly strikes me as a cash playing player.  Because there was no Masters division (not enough Masters), it was possibly tough for him to justify spending extra money just to see if he could compete for placing with 3 970+ rated players in the field (Tank, Leo, and Dick).

SSA was 50.91, meaning that Dan shot 80 points better than his rating, and 35 points better than his best round.

Regardless of the results, I think we should stick with this for an entire year.  I can promise you that we'll have enough information to make an informed decision regarding next year's leagues.

I'm not saying we shouldn't. I just think re-evaluating it with the criteria that I laid out above might be a wise decision.

I totally agree.  I think we'll have a couple of options depending on how this experiment turns out this year.

Using time in a statistic implies that there's a trend. 

It's all I really learned in my 3 day class on effective communication last week.

stats are manipulated by all those that use them.  One stat that shows that trend, can say that we are going to see the sky high league at Cliff Drive, and PC will slowly deterioate if you wanna use just this years stats based on the previous 5 years....

Bottom line, we are both getting a good group of people out to play our sport, so we all win.

(except KU, because they got beat by a team from Iowa.....)
