In my 4th grade spelling bee, I was asked to spell "shiny". I flipped out and instead spelled "shinny". That one hurt. I vowed to get revenge the next year. Unfortunately, that was the year I learned that it's not spelled "dinasaur". Shoot.
Cooper Arnold finished a respectable 2nd place that year, losing to a smarty-pants 6th grader, perhaps on the word "satellite"? He wowed the crowd with such correct spellings as "oblong".
