Swope Preparation for the Wide Open

Swope is an easy course to maintain because of how little schule exists on the actual course.  However, there are a few things to clean up.

• Trim around the rocks on both the front and the back
• Trim up the left side of #13's fairway
• Trim up the rock green on #13
• Pick up any loose trash on the course
• Mark the temporary OB lines once the grass gets cut (hopefully Monday)

I will be out Saturday morning and Sunday early afternoon to get started on this.  I'll also be out to mark the OB on Monday and Tuesday, and hopefully have the course totally ready by Thursday evening to allow for a full day of practice to the competitors.  If you'd like to come out and help, I would be more than happy to have some extra hands.

I got the outer part of the back OB trimmed up before the rain came.

I was going to help then play Timko. As it seems the rain has shut me down.

Is the "back" the north or south rocks? I got 15 and 18 done tuesday when i moved pins. Was headed for 1,2,3 when the rain came.

Eric, don't worry about it.  Next week, however, I'd love some help laying out the OB.

Drew, most of the pins are moved.  After talking with Rick yesterday, I think I'm going to move #2 to the left placement, and #11 back to the middle placement.  Everything else is ready, except Temp #1, which will be put out tomorrow for beer league, Tuesday for league, and Thursday/Friday for practicing.

Sure.  I'll be out at Swope tomorrow around 6.  I need to go pick up some string to mark the OB after work, and hopefully get the OB that defines #2, #3, and #4 done (just in time to play for league on Tuesday).

Well, I don't know if the city is going to get to mowing today, which will push the timeline for doing the lined fairways back.  I'll try to get out to paint some of the OB road lines though.

I just got an email from Gene, who's in charge of the mowing for Swope.   He said due to the wet weather, they won't start mowing until tomorrow, and won't finish until Wednesday.  So I don't really need any help tonight, but tomorrow and Wednesday any help would be appreciated.
