Bag Tag design for 2011
« on: August 10, 2010, 05:01:16 PM »
Many of you know that I have done the art for the tags the last 2 years.    Many of you didn't like the tag for this year for different reasons.   Gay, Vulgar, Hatred of Cows, stupid theme whatever.    I just did it because I got that suggested while I made the first one, so I tried to be funny.

Anyway, I am looking for some inspiration for this years and I am coming to you guys to help me come up with a good idea that I can make happen.   Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I should also mention that other people are welcome to submit designs, although I really enjoy doing it, I can share the space with others.   If you have a sketch you would like to see turned into something cool please feel free to PM me and I will take a look and see if I can use it.

Thanks.

just brainstorming here, Not sure if it would be too many different backgrounds or not. But what if we took the general consensus rankings of the KC courses and make them a picture background. For instance, if Waterworks is the top rated course in KC, we make numbers 1-25 or whatever, with a waterworks background, then 26-50 with swope or rosedale, whatever. make sense? Each course typically has a signature hole we could use as the picture.

Next year is the 10th anniversary of 9-11, if we wanted to get patriotic?

I was thinking we could do a Tie-In to the 30th Anniversary of the Wide Open for 2012, kinda like what was done for the Worlds in '09.

I like this idea for 2011.

For 2012 I was for sure going to do something with the theme of the 30th wide open.  No brainer there.

I don't know if I wanna get to patriotic for this year but it is an idea.  Keep them coming I like your enthusiasm here.

Drew I will consider the color scheme.

What are the chances of going with something other than plastic?  I have seen several medallion style bag tags and they look pretty cool.  Cost might be prohibitive on this though.

I have to admit, the Tulsa bag tag I have is a medallion style, and it's pretty cool.  Although, like Tom said, might be a bit on the costly side.  Not sure though.

The one good thing about the Plastic Tags is the fact that we can be creative as far as image goes.   We have always had a good response to these tags.   You have to admit ours have always been unique.

This is true!  I have to admit, when I've played out of town and folks from "wherever" check out the tag, they think it's pretty cool.  Although, they look kinda confused when they see the diseased cow....lol.  (Me guesses me should get better and upgrade to a normal cow  ;D )
