I certainly hope it does come to pass. However within the request for bid for 58 baskets issued by Clay County is the language that they reserve the right to reject any and all bids. This maybe SOP for this organization, but it's in all requests for bids.

Smithville (not dan's dream but aren't there 9 somewhere up there)

Not my dream anymore sir...it's a reality.

That being said, you cats might want to add the following-

Woodhenge @ Smithville Disc Golf Complex (par 62-65, 8500 to 8600 feet)
Thorny Woods @ Smithville Disc Golf Complex (par 57-60, 6900 to 7000 feet)
Beaver Creek @ Smithville Disc Golf Complex (par 54-56, 5500 to 5600 feet)

And the double secret Boardwalk Course (all the water holes from the 3 courses)

DcW  :o 8) :o

PS- The little course that's up there now is at Camp Branch. (The entrance to Camp Branch is 39°24'41.24"N, 94°31'0.78"W)

That just means they can reject any bid for any reason. It's standard boiler plate language in any government bid I've ever seen.

I have played all of the "KC" courses except:

Thornfield
California Trail
Pleasant Ridge

Area courses I have not played:

Melvern Lake
Smithville Lake
Clinton Lake
Perry Lake
Riverfront
Parkville church camp

Sounds like I'm scared of the water doesn't it...

The Leavenworth course is at the University of St. Mary, not St. Mary's. There is no S.

Also, the 18 hole course at Kanza Park in Ottawa is left off everyone's list. That one is much closer than Atchison or Topeka for most. It's a fun course with holes ranging from 200 - 700 feet. You do have to ignore the miniature tee pads. I guess it could be that all have played it.

I've played Hidden Valley, Kanza Park and Running Horse.
The only one missing from my list now is the church course.
WOW!! I also played the Oceans Of Fun course one of the last few years before they pulled it.
I saw some other courses mentioned on the top 10 courses and thought I'd mention them to see how many more people rivise AGAIN. LOL!!

I have played Kanza park in Ottawa, taking my mom there on Mother's Day weekend last year. This was her first time to toss a disc after all these years.

I also tried to find the Belton Jr. High course back in March, with no luck. Is it gone or just on hiatus?

I would like to play:

Old Pike
Ted's Dread
Thornfield
USM - Leavenworth, is that local? It would be a looonnnggg drive from SE of P.Hill for me (but then everything is a long way from the sticks).

Revising my list (as I played Old Pike today).  Nice additional holes, but we could have used a guide earlier (Thanks Mike for the help on finding the "backyard" holes).

# Rice Park in Topeka
# Riverfront in Lawrence
# Atchison
# Clinton Lake
# Melvern Lake
# USM

Sorry to tell you this now sir...the 'Ville has so much water front property...you're not gonna beleive it!

Do these other ones actually have water near by?

How many of these are by a lake or major body of water?

How close?

How many holes?

Why is the sky bluer in Smithville?

Huh huh...I don't know, cuz I've never played it.  ;D ::)
Seriously though, with as much info on here from the Park Ranger-dude and the LSDisc squad, I will go out on a limb and say that it is prolly in.
Perhaps someone can chime in here with a solid yes or no??

For shame! ;D

Gimme a break dude, my last Ritalin prescription ran out in 1993 and I began exploring organic alternatives shortly thereafter, so maybe the axe just ain't as sharp as it used to be...

Perry Lake is not in the ground yet. I know the tee boxes are poured but that is about it.

That really surprises me...

The pads are in the ground...

The baskets and poles are delivered and powder coated...

The benches are delivered...

The land looks cleared...

I wonder what the holdup is?

We (Smithville) were watching their efforts very closley...
