8-16-10 League
« on: August 16, 2010, 01:17:42 PM »
Come on out to play the Lion's Den warm up.  Many new changes for the event Saturday.  I doubt that I play as I am sore from being so fat and lazy, working that hard this weekend took its toll, but I will be out there doing some work or talking myself into playing the layout.

6 new holes will be used, and the course should play close to 5400' which would be about the shortest configuration that Cliff could possibly be.

thans Tank.....

It will only get better over the next few days.  It will get another haricut, we will trim some of the scruffiness out of the woods, explore some more out of the south of the stage for more mini-holes, but yes it is looking very good right now, and that is a BIG thank you to DREW who has slaved over the course with the love that I first had with it, and makes me happy to see it as such!

What sort of plans do have for a stage, Jack? Call me Thursday when you head out there, I just might actually be able to help that day. That is, as long as nothing else unexpected rears its head between now and then...

Drew and I are getting Pallets from Hal baby thursday.  He is meeting me for lunch at Mi Ranchita (I-35 & 95th exit, on the NW corner bottom of the hill, by the gas station) my treat, if you could bring a truck even better.  We will be hauling them out and then after work I will get the plywood and then put that on top.  A quick coat of paint, grab some are rocks to give an appearance that its natural and we should be set.  Your hanging basket will be in all the band photo's for sure!

if you can help in any of this process let me know.

I have G$ and his truck and trailer also being brought in to help, so I think with 3 trucks, 2-trailers, we shuold be able to get all 20 pallets, and 10 boards of plywood accordingly.

The plan is to meet for lunch at 12:30...

Man, can't we go with something better than pallets? Is the club broke again or something?

Whatever you wanna do, man, I think I'm completely free Thursday. I just took the camper shell off my truck because we built a privacy fence in the backyard today, so it will be good to go for hauling stuff.

this event is not a club event, and as such building a stage is not a club effort...it is merely my attempt to help the band get up off the ground, and look a little better.  I didn't wanna cave and spend the $500-$600 to build a concrete stage that I ideally want there, though I may be able to swing something like that in the future if I work it our better with P&R as they fix the road areas that need it, but only timing will help that scenario....

My concern is that I'd hate for this stage to become an eyesore like the plywood that's been laying out there. The "cove" area is beautiful and should not be blighted by something of sub-standard construction or materials.
