I'm trying something a little different this year with the RAC. We've beefed up the player's package so that its value is slightly more than the entry fee and will be awarding trophies only as prizes, at least for those who pay the base entry fee of $27.

For those who prefer to go for more winnings, we're offering an optional $10 prize pool entry, that will be paid out in prizes. All players who opt to play for the prizes will be in the same pool, regardless of which division they are in.

Is there ever an am championship for KC?  I mean other than the RAC.    The RAC is a good idea, but why limit it to just one course, a mediocre one at that?

14 years ago Rosedale was the highlight of Kansas City.   At this point it is probably more about tradition than anything.  That and Rosedale is a perfect mix for an Am Championship.

I agree with Dick.  It's the Amateur Championships, not the Open.  Although, after playing Cliff Drive...  Great Course!

I like the idea a lot, as well.

I also think that since the 10 dollar side bet is optional, there should be a less... shall we say, socialistic... disbursement of payouts than is typically done in tournaments of this type.

The only thing mediocre about Rosedale is the upkeep (i.e., grass being mowed)

Registration count is now 45 with at least four other players saying they're in. Oddly enough, not a single "old" person yet. First 72 are promised a custom disc and a custom tee shirt.
