Sedalia Disc Golf Course - Work Day
« on: August 25, 2010, 03:35:21 PM »
The short nine-holer in Sedalia is getting some finishing touches applied this Saturday, 8/28.

Work day - 9am start (although some will be there earlier to start drilling holes for tee signs and benches). It's an Eagle Scout project so anyone helping will get their hours counted toward his project. We'll be putting in formal tee signs and four benches primarily. I'd also like to remove more cedar trees and haul them off and if enough people show up install some of the alternate pin placements I have in mind. I have also been asked to mark the locations where nine nice trees they are purchasing need to be planted. I could sure use some help with that.

I have a couple of people that owe me a trip out to check it out, you know who you are...   ::)

If you are interested in coming out let me know. We now have twelve really nice tee boxes, nine original and three holes with longer alternates. Hopefully we'll get a few rounds in after the work is done.

I know the Day-Glow is happening so I don't expect anyone from KC but you never know...   8)

Had a huge turnout of helpers for the Eagle project yesterday and accomplished a lot. We now have formal tee signs on all holes and benches on 2, 4, 6 and 8. I stuck around and removed several more trees in strategic locations.

We'll be having a celebratory round today at 1pm to commemorate the addition of the Clover Dell Disc Golf Course in the PDGA course directory.

The course is nothing to write home about yet but we now have our foot in the door and a lot more land to work with. Gotta go pack my cooler and head to the course!   ;D

The course is now officially on the map!

Alternate pins on every hole, removal of more of the scrub cedars and planting of nine nice deciduous trees are all scheduled for this fall. I'll get better pictures of the course showing the tee signs, pads and benches as soon as I get a chance.
