Historically? Yes.
Currently? No.
BCS Championship Records:
Big 10: 1-2
Big 12: 2-5
SEC: 6-0
Well, I don't know:
Top conferences overall in mythical national championships since 1936 (in AP poll 1936-1997, BCS winner 1998-2010):
(current schools only....obviously Penn State didn't win any of their titles as a member of the Big 10, but they are counted here anyway)
◦SEC -- (17)
◦Big 12 – (16)
◦Big Ten -- (13)
◦ACC -- (9)
◦Pac-10 -- (4)
◦Big East -- (3)
and the SEC just took the lead this year.....I say that's pretty competitive. Big 12's hardly JV. I don't see the SEC getting it done this year. Florida and Alabama should be a bit down (Ingram's had his knee scoped this week), and frankly the other 10 teams don't figure into it.
And crowing about the SEC in your situation is like someone from Northwestern crowing about the Big 10. And before you come back, at least Texas A&M has won a Big XII title (to Sirr (Parker) with love). Has Arkansas even made an SEC title game?
Edit: Actually, I was shocked at the answer...the Hogs have made it 3 times....and lost all 3 times (1992, 2002, and 2006).
