Old Pike Fund Raiser Tournament

September 18th Fundraiser tournament at Old Pike Country Club!  This has been posted under the Old Pike Course; but, I am not sure it has made it to general discussion.  The purpose of the fundraiser is to put all funds into course improvements, specifically concrete tee pads!  Once we get real tee pads, we hope to host periodic traditional tournaments as well as charity events.   

Tentative Schedule:  8:30 Registration
                            10:00 First round, singles format divided by divisions
                            noonish:  Lunch provided
                            1:30 ish   Second Round
                            Afterwards swimming and cannonball contest.

Entry will include a custom Old Pike disc for first 50 who pre-register.  Lunch provided, swimming afterwards, and a one day family swimming pass good through June 2011.

Prizes for CTP and longest drive. 

Cost:  $25 for pre-registration, which  is appreciated so we can plan for food, number of life guards needed, etc. 
Family members welcome to swim for $2 fee.  We will also have an ace fund and pay out half with a ctp if no one hits it.

So far, we have prizes sponsored by The National Golf Club (round of ball golf for four people, shirts, hats, etc.)

Swimming after the tournament??
Doesn't the pool close after Labor Day?

Two questions... what is Old Pike comparable to? And also, what disc comes with pre-registration? I'm going to sign up, just curious.

OP is comparable to a mixture of P-Hill, Young, and Down Under.

Cooper, if you don't have any plans for today, it'd be worth driving out there to answer your question for yourself. OP really is a fun little course.

Is this course playable at any time? What are the rules associated with playing it?

As far as I know, if you are a KCFDC member you can play it anytime. Of course, they won't mind if you drop a dollar or two off inside the clubhouse.

We can save the cart for you Monty!  There are also a couple of old tires that Ted Keith dug out of the woods and you could use those to soup up your cart.

Yes, Virginia, there is swimming after Labor Day.  They will have the pool open for us and will have life guards on duty.  Most pools do close at Labor Day; but, Old Pike stays open on weekends through September. 

Regarding the disc.  It is an Aviar Putter with an Old Pike Shark stamp.  Its a nice design and everyone can always use another putter.

Thanks for the help  getting that damn cart out of the ground.  That saved me hours of blood, sweat and tears!  It wouldn't have been so bad if all the tree roots and not been intertwined with the cart.
