ya know, lots of community's benefit from multiple clubs in an area...!
I'm surprised nobody commented on this statement.

Or will it not be allowed because the KCFDC owns this site?

Or becuase they have failed, and it takes the continuity of the people that have been behind the scenes doing things for years to get the right ears to make it happen.

Glover you speak a mean game, but the reality is that you have attended a few work days and done a couple of clinics.  It is all good that you think that you are the storied person that brings years of experience, but after sitting in meetings and board presentations, and fund raising events, and community development meetings over the last decade, you have not been by my side.

Same goes with the other recent club that tried to start here, its tough to pick leaders and even tougher to get people to work towards one common goal.  Multiple clubs in this area would not be a bad thing I think, it would be that they would have to work together, and be united with an apporach.  The chances of that happening though with multiple clubs in this area is extremely small based on the our pouring of support that we see at this club's elections in the years past.

The best way it appears to get people to get involved typically requires alcohol as a lubricant to even entice you to attend a meeting.

Now, do not get me wrong, I know that there are a lot of great people that do great things in the disc golf community here locally.  I have seen it, and I love it.  But that dedication to be ran over the course of a year or 2 of consistent behavior and sacrifices does not happen with most.

Prove me wrong this year, lest we have over 100 at the Club Meeting this year.

We will have new by-laws to adopt, and a new way of organizing our group.

Changes maybe a better solution than succession from the group.

Want something done different, run for a voice to be elected to make those changes.  You too then be considered the KCFDC that "owns" this site...(what a silly comment......)

Thanks Billy...Its tough to apologize to Dick, I have to do it, and I then cry myself to sleep!

Looks like the Club Championships went well, I am sorry that I had to miss it.  Great weather for golf, as I was putting in the infield, but Satureday was WINDY as all get out!

Leo-WOW, congrats man!  Way to stay on focus and keep it live all 4 rounds, and a repeat at that.  Truly great golf to make that happen here!

All that just because I noticed no other banter about his statement??

The way people get treated does affect their  decisions about the club.
If you felt you needed me by your side. Your way of showing it is not inspiring.
I have other things in life besides disc golf to concern myself with that are more important.
Besides, I'm not the one always talking about all the great things I've done for disc golf in Kansas City.
You don't need me.

blah blah blah......
I have other things in life besides disc golf to concern myself with that are more important.

My point exactly, you have to have dedication to make anything work.  It takes a team of people to help with this support.  Putting together a group, or committee with people that do not make that time availablae is a recipe for failure.

Blah blah blah
You don't need me.

Quite the contrary.  We need everyone, even you Glover.  It takes our entire disc golf community to build us, not just one.  I have never done anything by myself.  It has taken a team to make things work.  By having an attitude that you are not needed is not the stance I am working on getting out there.

I just think form time to time, you give an impression of knowledge that I disagree with.  It doesn't mean I don't need you, it just means I disagree with you.  Common practice for me to disagree is not out of the normal.  I do often change my mind though when a better argument or stance comes that changes my opinion.

So take my tongue in cheek comments that you may see as an attack, as common banter in a chat room that some may interpret otherwise, but know that the ultimate goal is for us to have the best disc golf in the world.  We are pretty close, and its because of you reading this that makes it happen.  Not from me or Glover! ;D

I don't think that's the case.  There's always lots of posturing by people.  However, the actual work is done by a very small, core group.  When someone comes to me with something that says "here's my club, here's it's agenda,"  I'll probably listen then.  Otherwise, it's just idle talk.

67 played this weekend which was a great turn out in my opinion.   44 finished!   That is 1 more than last year.   There was a small SNAFU in the boards at the end.   Brian Taylor actually won the D FLight.  Though Conner Mitts was announced the winner.   The guys helping me out accidently moved a few people out of their flights.  I tried to get them all back in order but  I missed that one and I apologize to Connor for the mistake.

I would almost consider 13 a Par 5.   Even in the Kan U Wyco the pro division ALONE scored a combined 6.5 on that hole.  And there were no "astronomical" scores in that either.  Though I understand why you call it a 4.

I would've thought that one was definitely a par 5. It has length and big trouble OB off the tee, the second shot, and the third shot and on top of all that you still have to make your putt.

I told Rick at Olathe the par was 61, but I counted #13 as a 5 as well.

However, I had #3 marked as a par 4 and #10 as a 3.  #10 is a 4 for sure.  I guess you could get inside 40' with a big flex shot or a huge roller.

Gongrats to Leo! Your a gentelman in victory! Cooper, I agree, you will find a Club Championship sooner rather than later. Wish I could have been there, but it's great to see so many club members out.
