You should swing by USM on your way up and throw a quick 18. I corrected the name. It's Atchison not Atkinson. I hope they've mowed it recently. If they haven't it can be pretty ugly. If they have it's great.

Is the course easy to find? I might have to start traveling up there for work once in a while.....

Super easy to find! Jackson park. A great layout, really nice, mature park with many elevation changes and a bonus 9 holes on the back side of the park property!
The only con I see is the lack of teepads, otherwise it's a strong 8/10 for your typical small town city park.
               Good job Atchkinsonville!!

What he said....  8) -- and they tend to neglect it during the summer months and it gets quite shaggy. Otherwise, if you haven't checked it out it is definitely worth the short road trip. I predict you will get there and wish you had been up sooner.

While we're talking road trips Indian Foothills in Marshall, MO is worth the drive as well. No pads either but an interesting mix in an older established park. I'd suggest coming on down to Sedalia too but I'm not bragging too much about it yet. Nice pads, benches and signs but it needs tweaked and expanded badly. But, depending on where your heading, if it's not out of your way....   :D
