Shelter
« on: November 11, 2010, 10:32:19 AM »
Young park disc golf course will soon have a new shelter built near hole one.   The pad was poured this past week and it appears that they will have the roof done pretty soon.  In addition, the parks dept has reseeded empty spots on the course.  Plus they continued to mow in tighter in some wooded areas and are opening up some areas nicely for their last mow of the season.

I am so impressed with Young's Park and the support the P & R has for it.  Can't wait to see the new shelter.

it's not a shelter, it's the new anti-overhand tee pad
putt, putt, give.

John, I saw the beginnings of the shelter and noticed the lines in the ground from seeding. Looking good out there.
Here's my dog treeing a squirrel in the two hedge trees to the left of #5. I know how much you enjoy listening to him tree:

The next project is to get some benches installed.  The parks dept offered to build them and there has been some talk that the KCFDC will donate some funds  to help purchase some.  Those details will be worked out later.   They can build the benches in house at a fraction of the cost it takes to buy them.  I would assume by the quality of work demonstarted at Yound so far, that  their benches would  likely be of similiar quality.

I would still like to get some directional stones/markers throughout the course to help new players navigate.  After that Young should be as complete as it can be according to the grant specifications.
