Bald Eagles to see
« on: January 02, 2011, 09:18:57 PM »
I drove to Sqauw Creek Nature Preserve in Mound City, Mo. on New Years Eve day and spotted around 45 eagles.
One spot there were 7 eagles on the same level of a tree.

This is the perfect time for seeing the Bald Eagles up there.  I try to make it there at least once a year.  I have some great pics.  May have to go next weekend!

On Christmas day I was at my parents house in Bonner Springs and we all looked out the window and there was a bald eagle flying around in the back yard playing with a red tail hawk.

The tree with the 7 eagles was a family. There were several younger eagles in the group. I wish I had a better camera with an expensive lens set-up. I could have had some neat shots of the 7 together cause they were fairly close. The current camera I have is OK but not a professional camera.
Here is the webpage for anyone interested:http://www.fws.gov/midwest/squawcreek/
Posted that one because of the organized deer hunt going on this coming weekend. http://www.fws.gov/refuges/profiles/index.cfm?id=33560 is their main webpage.
Enjoy!!

Perhaps there should be an event on the 8th or 9th in which players can only throw Eagles?  ;D

Well ya know sir that they can be seen most anytime of the year...not just on Eagle Days!

It's not like they have calendars or smart phones...
