2011 Kansas City Wide Open XXIX-countdown to 30

Wide Open Staff Meeting at Kelly's tonight from 6-7.  (Westport & Pennsylvania)

Wide Open Helper's Meeting at Waterworks on Thursday @ 3:30 if you can make it.

If you cannot make that meeting, but are planning on helping, that is ok.  I only ask that you visit the courses and talk with the staff accordingly.  It is looking more and more like we will be having 2 pools in the Pro-Divisions (only need 10 Pros in next 2 days), which means a couple of things on Friday.   They will be playing FAST, and will not take long to tear up WW & Cliff.  It also means that we need help at both courses on Friday, and then on Saturday all hands on deck if you can at Blue Valley, Rosedale in the morning, Cliff Drive in the afternoon. (Need over 30 Ams in next 3 days to move to 2-fields)

Thursday-
--Course Prep Teams Wanted-All Day, call Jack 913-485-5123 for more information
--Registration Check In @ Blue Valley from 12-6 (Helpers Wanted there as well)

Friday-
WaterWorks & Cliff Drive
--Arrive at Course by 8:30 if possible for morning rounds
--Arrive at courses by 12:30 if possible for afternoon Rounds
--Registration Check In @ Blue Valley from 12-6 (Helpers Wanted there as well)
--If you can help with extended times, please let us know, we have a traveling crew following the Open Field that can use extra hands

Saturday-
--Rosedale Needs Spotters Help, arrive by 8:30 please
--Blue Valley NEEDS PRO Spotters-throughout the day teeing off ~9:30, show up, we can put you to work
--Cliff Drive in the afternoon please show up by 12:30 for directions
--If you can help with extended times, please let us know, we have a traveling crew following the Open Field that can use extra hands

Sunday-
--Water Works needs helpers, we will need an earlier crew here as they tee off @ 8.  If you can arrive by 7:30 that would be ideal, if you have worked it out with the course staff on Friday, please honor your commitments.
--Swope, all support staff from other courses should be at Swope to support.  We need an array of helpers throughout the day, spotters, crowd control, band/stage area set up, video crew help, parking, shuttles…..ALL HANDS ON DECK for the Finals at Swope.  Please be in attendance by 9:30 if you plan on helping.

That’s a brief outline of what is needed.  Please contact me if you can be a part of the greatest disc golf event in Kansas City, 28 years in the making…..

Jack, I kniow you are busy but could you post who is course prep contacts for the courses involved...I know Timkos at Swope...This dont have to come from Jack...It makes it easier for me to contact people with my schedule, and aquire detailed specifics as to what they want done...Thx

Right now, its all hands on deck, everyone is working hard at the courses.

Don't feel obligated to call and ask, just get to your local course and pick up trash, if you have a weed eater, start to trim.  The baskets are all in place for the courses currently.

We want our community to shine, so please apply and supply some elbow grease if you can!

I don't have a weedeater, but, I'll be there tomorrow.  I got some free time as well today, before I run league tonight.  What's needing the most where today?  Rosey is closest to me.....I may head out there, and at the very least, gather up garbage.

Give Jim Sherwood or Steve Harris a call.  I talked to them before last weekend, and they were planning to do some work.  I don't know what still needs done out there, and probably won't have a look at the course until Thursday.

Just to confirm, Amateur doubles at Blue Valley have a rolling start from 12-4 on Friday, is that correct?  Also, Amateurs need to check in from 12-6 at Blue Valley?  Thanks.

We will have pro and am divisions but will probably have a lot more ams since most the pros will be playing in the tournament that day.
