Stolen Chains on holes 4,9,17
« on: March 04, 2011, 02:21:03 PM »
If you have noticed that these baskets haven't been catching the same there is a good reason why. It appears sometime around last spring someone has upgraded their basket at home at our expense. There are six chains on the inner ring on this type of Innova Diskcatcher (now diskejector) baskets. It just so happens that hole 4 has three chains missing, hole 9 has one and hole 17 has two missing. All these baskets can conveniently be accessed by the road which makes it easy for someone to grab. We need to get these 6 chains replaced and make sure all the chains are crimped down so there not so easy to remove.

I'll try to repiar them this weekend.

What makes ya think it happened last Spring Bryan?

I doubt it was a basket upgrade theft though. It was more likely some neigborhood terroristic children. The cost of the chain isn't that great, and I think if a Disc Golfing thief was going to steal chain, they would just steal the entire unit.

I asked the City to evaluate the baskets this year for possible re-painting and maintenance, or maybe replacement, but who knows if they will do anything.

This is exactly what the thief might have thought and it was almost the perfect crime tell my puts started falling out last summer. Of course it wasn't my fault my perfectly executed puts weren't staying in. I have been robbed numerous times by basket 4, & 17 and I not going to take it anymore. I not only want these baskets fixed I want to be reimbursed for all my lost winnings; I want this chain robber to hang. Basket 4 chains were left equally spaced. What kind of kid does that? Some kids took the chains off of a Cliff Drive basket and hung them in a tree. What would a kid do with these chains and how would they even reach them? I think we would have found some of them lying around.
