Hey Guys this is my first post to this forum.  I'm new to Disc Golf and, although I've known people who play it for years, this is my first year playing.  I've got a group of about five guys that I play with and we've played several parks around KC including Legacy, P. Hill, Swope, and Waterworks.  I like Swope and Legacy the best.  I would need a mountain goat to play waterworks again.

All in all, I think LSPR does a great job of keeping the park clean and mowed.  Although the rough was getting very tall at times, they have it mowed again now.  I've spent many hours logging around the tall grass searching for my disc and found all but one (Champion Groove Tie-Died lost in the rough to the Right of the Big Tree on 8 ).  I've also found lots of ticks, chiggers, a snake skin, and a clutch of what I think are Duck Eggs (hole 8, looking for my disc).  From what I can tell LSPR doesn't get much (if any) money from disc golf so the fact they even have a course at Legacy is awesome.

I threw another disc over the fence a couple of weeks ago and they were very accomodating by bringing it from the maintenace facility to the community center for me to pick up.  They could have just tossed it back over the fence into the weeds for me to search for again :)

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world; those who understand binary and those who don't.

Man can we get Dan to do the posts again?!  BJ and I had some killer holes and great birdies as did others on my card.  Dan was always good at talking about notable shots.  Come on Jay!!   ;)

P.S.  Thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and heckle you a little, can't "have your back" all the time...

Some of the highlights for 5/20...

All of the rain managed to pass Legacy by, leaving in its wake ideal playing conditions.  BJ/Jordan set a new doubles course record with a 44 on the back of Jordan's pickup birdies on #5 Long and #8 Short (monster high hyzer, that Jordan admitted he threw hard).  Matt/Paul took second with Paul's 40 -45 footer for bird on the last hole (#9)...they were hot with the putts all round.  Kevin/Jay took the CTP on #9 (but Jay picked the hole, you know).

Why thank you Dan.  I do like to read through the posts on round highlights (and I'm not being biased either since BJ and I had a great round).  Just adds to the confidence level to get some people noticing your play and I'm sure others would agree with that statement.

Friday Night Flight, 6/10 (Increasing Clouds 86 - 78, wind calm for first 9 holes, the North 10 mph)

Nine players out for Doubles at Legacy on a calm evening as storm clouds started to roll in.  Course was in excellent condition with the fairways mowed this past week.  Brad/Brandon squeezed out the win with a 46...Dan/Kevin were second with a 47...the difference maker (believe it or not) was hole #16, when Dan/Kevin could only manage a par. ::)

Friday Night Flight, 7/15 (Clear 93 - 89, wind South - Southeast 7 - 12 mph)

Twenty players out (largest league of the year) for Doubles at Legacy on a on a warm summer evening.  Had several first time players (to Friday Night Flight) and 2 women players.  LSPR mowed the rough last Saturday, the fairways earlier that week...fairways are starting to get a little shaggy, but the course plays good.  After Jordan/Lee set a new course record (for doubles) with a smoking 42 a couple of weeks ago (and with the rough mow), we had LSPR move the pins to a mostly long settings...don't think the record is in reach with this configuration.  With BJ/Jordan and Dalton/Lee in the clubhouse enjoying a cold one with a pair of 47s, Keizer/Slim came in and spoiled the party with a 46 to take the win.  Hot front 9, BJ/Jordan -4 (including #6 Long)...hot back 9, -5 by 2 teams Keizer/Slim and Dalton/Lee...longest birdie string Dylan/Paul 5 holes (12 thru 16).
