DU benches gone?

I just played Down Under yesterday and noticed that most of the benches were gone. I was just curious if the CC were the ones that pulled them or someone wanted some old school benches for their house?

Most of the benches have been destroyed over the past couple of years.  Whether it's by casual golfers or by some of the youngsters that hang out there at night, I'm not sure.

I might be able to get a few Eagle Scouts to make benches? It certainly wouldn't be 18....

Should I work with the course coordinator if the Scouts are interested?

YES!  That would be awesome David.  Brad Berve is the course chair out there, I would get in touch with him.  I think his son is also involved in Scouting, so I bet he'd be more than willing to work with you.

Let me know, I as well have a few Eagle Scouts looking for projects, maybe we can get them all together and get all 18 done maybe???

Brad - I've got an email out to the gentleman that I discussed it with.
I'll let you know what I hear.

Anyone ever put together a rough drawing and material list for a bench?
It's certainly going to be one of the first questions asked.

The scout will have to go raise the funds needed to buy the supplies. If they knew the
cost of each bench they might also be able to get a business to sponsor each bench.
Would the Parks Dept have an issue with a plaque or some designation of the sponsor on
each bench?

Regarding bridges, the two I would guess need the most work are the two over numbers 10 and 11.
Those a pretty big tasks for scouts (IMO).
