legacy or young?
« on: March 28, 2011, 06:36:18 PM »
I'm from Iowa but ill be in town Friday (april 1) round noon for a wedding. Ill have a couple hours to play a round while the girls do their spa/hair/makeup thing and can't decide what to play. This will be my first round of the season but I wouldn't call myself a beginner. Im told ill be around young or legacy and can't decide which one. A little help?

Youngs Park has tight fairways with water hazards and mature trees.

Legacy is more open with lots of wind.

Personally, I like Youngs better!

Thanks y'all. I. Can deal with a litdtle wind so Legacy is sounding pretty good so I can feel out my throw again without getting to technical. Especially since I picked innova's new Vulcan. Haven't got a full throw in with that yet.

Legacy is a so-so course, fun enough but nothing spectacular. If you're itching to bomb with the Vulcan, its probably the better choice.

Young is probably one of the more challenging technical courses you'll play, with a peaceful walk in the woods feel. It will test you meddle for sure.

You'll have fun at either course, hope you enjoy your round.

rain in the forecast thurs, not sure one will be less muddy.

young is closer to i-70 and has a few water shots, legacy is close to 470/435 not as technical
putt, putt, give.

I've yet to play Legacy.
I know its Lees Summit.
Give me an idea where its located from the main highways.
Sounds like ANOTHER course I must cross of my yet to play lists.
I've only played one hole on the Fuzzy Pony property.
Any other thread drifters???  ;D

Legacy is about 2.5 miles east of the intersection of 291S and Colbern Road.  It's pretty close to the south edge of Lake Jacomo.

I now present a google map.

From the map Palmer provided, park at the end of the shelter/playground lot, not the maintenance building lot. Tee 1 is at the end of that parking lot
