Disc Golf Chain

I know that disc golf baskets have galvanized chain. However, I don't know the exact specs and I want to make my own homemade basket. If anyone knows the specs or where I could get some of this chain, let me know. Thanks!

The chain used can vary from different basket manufacturers. The PDGA Technical Standards document does not specify a specific size of chain for baskets. I'd say to get an appropriate chain you could measure the chain on a basket at a course and see if you can find similar chain at your local hardware store. More info about dimensions can be found in the diagram and chart on page six of the aforementioned document linked to here:

I know this is not what you asked about but thought you might like to know...... I upgraded the chain on 12 Lightning baskets and the best price I found on chain was $.70 a foot at Cummins Tools. I had to dicker a bit, but well worth it. They had lots of sizes to choose from and cost about 70% less then full price stores.

Hey thanks, I'm from Independence and I believe there is a Cummins just up the street from my house.

I have been doing some research on making my own baskets also and all of the ones that I have found (that were homemade) used a 2/0 Passing Link Chain. And of course you want galvanized as you mentioned above. Hope that helps, if nothing else go to lowes and check out the chain I am talking about.

I built 19 matching, double chain assemblys with calf-feeder baskets for Olathe back in '89. They caught really well. If you need some ideas or help, lemme know.
