I'm still leaning towards my initial thought on this.  I'll check it out next time I'm out there, but, from what I remember, it's far enough into the woods that if you end up there, you're punished enough just trying to get out of there.  As far as being in the creek, with the likelihood of you getting your feet soaked, I'd say give yourself a casual drop where you entered.  No need to punish yourself anymore than you already are.

I wouldn't make new rules James.  If you call it casual you should probably keep it in line with casual OB rules of the PDGA.   You really don't want to confuse the people who play by those rules.  Though it is your league.  Just sayin.

it is OB if your drive goes that long behind the pin, you get hit with the penalty.  I have never not thought of it as in, its water, its moving, its there, if you're in the water you are OB.

I took it upon myself to yell "Pick up your trash" to the kids playing in front of us as I watched them leave bottle after bottle of empty pilsner on the course....it didn't work, when we got to hole 18 they had left a bottle just for us in the middle of the pad.

Stupid kids...pick up your trash!

How'd they get away without getting busted for alcohol in the park? Jerks.....

I played it OB the other night and so did Anthony, and I think it actually saved us both strokes by playing it OB.  Them woods on the right on both sides of the creek (or slough) are nasty. But I don't care which way we play it, just as long as it is known..

And where were the cops to bust those beer drinking kids in front of us....police is always right there bugging me when I let McCoy off leash to mark a couple trees :o

Andy, didn't mention that not only did they leave the beer bottle on the pad on 18, but they also loaded the chains with their trash as well. Too bad they took off so soon. Not that I have the marbles to do anything to them, but I know at least 1 or 2 guys on our card who would have, and it would have been fun to see.  ::)

What does the tee sign say about this creek being OB? Tonight we will play it as the tee sign indicates. If the tee sign says the creek is OB, that's how we will play it. If the tee sign makes no mention of it, it is casual water and you can take relief behind your lie.

I honestly don't remember what the sign says, partly because I don't think about looking at it, as it's by the parking lot and not the tee pad.  Makes sense to me though!

James, I am talking about the tee sign which is somewhere around the tee, not the sign at the parking lot. We'll check it out this afternoon.
