Dave Wismer email

I received this email. I've seen very similar scams.
Has anybody else gotten the same email?
I'm guessing Dave's contacts are getting this.

I've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and my flight leaves shortly from now but am having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let me leave until i settle the bills,

I'm freaked out at the moment, I need help

scam.  spoofing other's e-mails as the return address is pretty easy with the right tools.

check that page, the e-mail that don glover is referring to is identical to the scam e-mail.

Just talked to Dave he was in Lon  ....no Lawrence, KS. So you can put away your piggy banks. Someone hacked his account.

It sounds like Kevin is putting Tom  on the same level as about where Spencer is.

I replied to the email and immediately wired him 2 grand, wonder if he got it yet...
