OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - League 06/06/11

After looking at the results of my little survey, I have decided to play Swope Gold for Swope League on 06/06/2011.

Since the course is going to be a lot longer than normal, PLEASE be signed up with me by 5:45pm so I can make cards.  I plan on keeping Cards to a maximum of 3 players per card, unless absolutely necessary. 

I will have a map of Swope Gold for each card, so there should not be any issue with the order of holes, which will vary from the normal course.  Of course, many of you have already played Swope Gold in the past and it will be familiar...but just in case, I will have maps and instructions. 

Lets make this the best Swope League to date.  If there are Swope League regulars who do not normally get on here, please notify them for me.

I will post the Swope Gold course holes shortly.

Course is almost there. Apparently the mowing crew couldn't wait 2 more weeks and completely removed one temp placement and were hoping to put new placements on 2 and 7. Should be a busy saturday.
Only 2,7, and alt hole 1 are not set as off now.

The city dropped off a huge pile of woodchips beside the brush pile from around 13s green. Some casual asked me if i could move 13 shorter, i bet he was super bummed when he saw 2 huge piles of crap blocking the green. Hopefully they get that knocked out soon.

Hope we get to play it. Course is cleaning up pretty nice.

Here is the Swope Gold layout for the KCWO that we will attempt to play at League on Monday, 06/06/11:

#1 – Normal #1 Long
#2 – Normal #2 Long (this may be the middle position for league)

(We will skip Normal Holes #3 and #4)

#3 – Normal #5 Left
#4 – Temp #1 Long  (as of today, this hole is not in the ground yet)
#5 – Temp #2 Left
#6 – Temp #3 Short
#7 – Normal #6 Long
#8 – Normal #7 New placement (Island) (for league, this may be the normal position)
#9 – Normal #8 Long
#10 – Normal #9 Short
#11 – Normal #10 Middle
#12 – Normal #11 Long
#13 – Normal #12 Right
#14 – Normal #13 Long Left
#15 – Tee from #14 Short Tee Pad to #15 Pin Long (Island)
#16 – Temp Tee in corner to #16 Long
#17 – Temp Tee to #17 Left
#18 – Normal #18 Long

All O.B. will be in affect.  All Mando's will be in affect.  We will play from all long pads, unless otherwise stated.

I will let you know what we are doing with on each hole on Monday night before we tee off.  I will have maps and the above information available on paper for each card.  Again, please be signed up and on the club house deck by 5:45.  I want to send everyone out at 6 sharp.  

Please tell your friends and lets have a large turnout; this will be a good round.

Would you please post the map? I'm just curious on how it will be laid out. I don't have that kind of arm to try and play the gold tees, but I would like to see them. I think that I will come out and watch the final round.

You should still get out and play it.  It's tough, but it's still a lot of fun.

It's a bit longer, but will play much easier on Monday without the OB rope.

I dont have the arm for it either, but I will still be playing, even if I shoot in the 80's.  I plan on having fun with it.  

I will post the map that I created, but right now it is a powerpoint presentation based on my work computer and I will have to convert the pics to jpeg before placing on here.

I did play the island placement on 7 the day they were laying it out. I'm hoping, as a lefty that is made into a perm placement.

The pins will actually be more to the right, behind (or on) the rock.  We'll have to see what Dan Cashen does to it.
