Eastern Front- June 25th Young Park and Pleasant Hill
« on: June 08, 2011, 03:20:15 PM »
The Eastern Front is expanding to two courses and will be using not only Young Park, but also Pleasant Hill.  Both courses are located just off 7 Hwy and only 20 minutes apart.  If you have never played in an event, this will be a great opportunity to start.  The Eastern Front is focused on getting new players out,  having fun, casual but competitive golf, affordability, sweet players packs with dinner provided after the second round, unofficial glow round, and camping.  The players pack will include a dri-fit event shirt, dinner after the second round, and three glow lights for a random draw dubs glow later in the evening. The Glow Round will kick off after dinner  once cash and prizes have been redeemed.

Young Park will be utilizing its various tee pads for different divisions.  The course will be set long and Pros will be teeing  off on all long pads testing their pro's skills, the Advanced divisions will use a few shorter pads, and the Recretional division will use more short pads.  Pleasant Hill will have some OB string lines, an island hole, and some longer pads for the pro's.  Advanced players will use some of the alterations while the Rec Division will play the normal course without the changes.

The is the second year of  the Eastern Front.  I wanted to expand to Pleasant Hill to offer folks the opportunity to stick around after the players party meal, play some glow, and even camp out.  Pleasant Hill is a beautiful spot to play and camp.  Players will get a balanced day of golf being tested at Young on accuracy, risk reward holes, miracle shots and saves, and then get to open it up at Pleasant Hill throwing bombs, being tested by the wind, and throwing many ace runs.

First Round Starts at 10:00am at Young Park
Second Round starts around 2:30-3:00 at Pleasant Hil

Tournament fees

Pro          $40-receive dinner only-cash prizes
Adv         $25-full players pack-KCFDC funny money or disc for prizes
Rec          $20- full players pack and trophy only for winners
*(players pack has a value of more than the rec fee thus trophy only for 1st,2nd,3rd)

Registration will be online using Pay Pal as the only way to register.  You do not need a Pay Pal account, only some sort of debit or credit card.     The event flyer should be up some time this week.  If you have any questions email me at jtheiss@bssd.net  or reply online.  Camping fees are not included in enty fee-$5 cash to camp. TD has the right to make any necessary changes to format, divisions, players pack, and payouts as needed to ensure a successful event.

Thanks,

John Theiss

This sounds amazing, John.   It just sounds like a perfect event to me.   Start out with a mental course, move to a slightly more relaxed course, and then hang out with a bunch of great people for camping, food and glow golf.   I'll pass this on to folks who need to know!

Aiming to get some new players out.  I talk to so many folks that say, "i do not play tournaments or leagues".  Now is the time to start.  For some reason folks are timid of events and i guess i was at one time. But now is the time to come out and meet some new players.   So folks think that they are not good enough to play in a tourny but this event is all about having fun.  The Eastern Front  is geared to those folks that think they are casuals to come out and play some casual golf but in a tournament setting.  Short pads at Young for the Rec Div, long pads for Adv and Pro Div and then off to P Hill.   P Hill is a great beginner course  and is fantastic place to end up for the second round.  It will be a great day of golf followed by an evening of entertainment with glow and camping.

thanks for spreading the word Ryan.

maybe we could get some experienced players to do a "clinic" or just have some people deminstrate what a disc is possible of doing. i think doing somthing like that after the rounds would be cool for new players to see.

you should forward on a request for more of the tall IPAs for this tournament.  they ran out of those way too quickly at thornfield this year.
