Results from the 6th H2Open

The 6th H2Open will be held at Water Works on Saturday, July 23. This is mainly a celebration of Water Works for those who truly love the course, but we’re going to play two rounds of golf, keep score, and bestow prizes anyway. The $32 entry fee includes two rounds of golf, a BBQ lunch prepared by KC disc golf cooking guru Kelly Warren, soft drinks, and a custom tee shirt. The field, which is nearly 1/3 full already, is limited to 72 players. If you're interested in a low-keyed, fun, non-PDGA event for players of ALL skill levels, then consider the H2Open. just to clarify, does any of the $32 go to payout or just for the food and apparel? or is the big boy bet, the payout?

Roughly about $20 of the $32 will be going toward the Pro Payout.  The big boy bet will only add to that. 

$2 will go to the club
ABOUT $10 will go toward the Food/Beverage, Tshirt, and Celebration!

Are the holes going to be moved from their current configuration before the H2Open?

One of the traditions of this tournament is to play as many different placements as possible, which means that wherever the baskets are now (or on the day of the event) will be used for the first round. Then we will ask each group after finishing their last hole to move the basket to another placement, shorter, if possible. Part of the celebration of Water Works is to play as many placements as possible.

Speaking of playing, there are still plenty of spots available. And yes, it will be hot. This week's weather is very reminiscent of the weather we had here during the 1999 Am Worlds, when the temps topped the century mark for most of the week. I remember a storm cooled things off for Saturday's finals to a balmy low 90s.

Please don't let the heat scare you away, just remember to start hydrating at least a day before you play. We'll have water on the course.
