42 for some muggy golf at Water Works Park. Right at 80 with not much breeze. It felt quite a bit warmer.

51 was best on the tough summer layout. Mark Stiles and Arturo tied and played off in Open. I believe Turo won. Shanan Carson and Mark Mills both came in at 52 in Masters. 53 was good in Pro2 for Eric Eastwood. 61 took the Advanced for Ian Stone. Minna joined the guys and shot 69. Mike Keizer had an even round with six birdies, six pars, and six bogies.

Pro2, really?  If this is not reason enough to get rid of the Pro2 system, then I don't know what is....

Three of those birds were from outside 50'.   Though, three of the bogs were missed 15'.   He started off slow but played really good on the front side (back 9 for us).

That was a fun round for sure. Thanks to Mr. Milsap for getting me into the "2 beer range".

Also, I agree that Pro 2 needs to go, and that a return to the old system would be nice.

Prior to this year, the leagues were pretty much divided into Pro fields of Open, Masters, and then there were the various Amateur fields. (Advanced, Advanced Masters, Intermediate, etc.)

The Pro divisions pay out in cash, while the Am divisions pay out in KC Kash redeemable for merchandise at Disc Golf World.

I think it should be all one division and the entry should be $3... $1 for the club, $1 for the ACE fund, and $1 for the payout. Anyone that wants to wager more can do an on or off card deal.

how do you orchestrate this then across the field?  What becomes a standard?  Well, I'll play for $2, but Tim will only play for $5 more, and then Tank wants to play for $20.....so you have all these chefs in the kitchen, who gets it to the table?  And at what time?

It has to be a method to the madness.  I don't think that the the PRO2 division is a needed division.  You either play the following:
Pro
AM

Then you can have age protected and division protected.  You don't split the Pro field into 2, now 3 divisions....(Masters is a Pro division, so essentially you put in a third division....)

I didn't grasp the entire issue as well as I should have in the March meeting, I didn't think through all the ramifications that have came from this process change.  It hurtsnew players drastically in the system, as no one seems to want to play on the "am" side of things, and people may play once, then not retrun without any competition....

Speaking strickly as someone new to the sport, I had a lot of fun last night compettting for an obtainable prize with people around the same experience . I was able to bring out 2 guys that wouldn't normally come because of the heavy competition. They felt a lot more comfortable paying $5 for "advanced" then $5 for "pro." I hope advanced is still around again next week.

what about bumping up the pro 1 division to $10-15 and letting folks play for enough to take the significant other to sizzler? either that or come up with a sweet player package just for signing up for the trophy only division.
