Finally got my -18 from the short tees.  Needed an ace to do it, but it's done.  Now I can work on my -13 personal best from the longs.

that's good shootin Jose.  did you have to use a mid on any of the shorts or was it all putters?

some baskets are in the easier placements now so -18 is easier to get.    shooting -18 from the longer pads and harder pin placements is a mistake free round and a great round

Jose got -13 and I got -12 from the long pads. Especially with the summer foliage, shooting much better than that will be tough but it can be done!!

Oh and John, c'mon man give a little respect where respect is due. -18 is good no matter what course and no matter what placement. Not many people could hack it, even at Yates. Just sayin.

-18 is great and good shooting Jose.  not trying to steal his thunder but just saying that the course is not playing as hard as it can, especially from the shorts.

we should start up a new players league out there or a league that lets the newbies throw the shorts and the adv throw the longs and keep everyone in the same division.  i would be interested in the scoring deviation and wonder how close the scores might be.

Thanks.  I drove with a Roc every time except for holes 3, 12, 13, and 15.

I know it's set in the easiest placements right now.  But it still took me many tries to get the -18.  When every shot counts, even the easy shots become a bit harder because of the pressure I'd put on myself.   Anyway, like I said.  If you have a -18, post it.

Otto and Todd shot an 18 down at swope one time....that is the only other one I have heard of....maybe some down under leagues??

I have played Yates a hundred times, and have never thought to use the short tees. That's where the first graders play from in gym class!

Try it out.  It's works your touch on upshots.  Long tees do the same I guess, and are more fun.  I've just never had a -18 so I figured I'd start there.

Everyone is looking to discredit your -18 Jose! My friends and I played doubles last night and were only able to get to -15. Yates is a great little course and the summer foliage makes it tougher than everyone thinks. First grade tees or not, I challenge anyone to shoot -18 at Yates. But until you do, let's quit doggin on jose and give the man  some credit shall we?!

The fairways are definitely tight right now and require a good consistent line. 

Maybe if I wouldn't have missed that silly 20 footer by doinking it off the front of the basket and thus securing my -19 it may have gotten more credit haha.  I was temporarily upset with the -18 after that.   Coulda, shoulda, woulda.
