Smithville has chosen to not be a KCFDC course though.....so why would a KCFDC event be at a non-KCFDC course?

Just to clarify.  The Smithville courses are open to the KCFDC and anyone else who would like to run a tournament there.

Shooting for Sept. 8-9 (no local events that weekend and no big PDGA event nearby either.)

Sounds good to me.  You're on the calendar.

Run it the way you want it Tracy.

If you are going to put in the work to make this awesome thing happen then you, and you alone, should be choosing whether this is a charity event or for a payday. The only extent to which you should be swayed out of making this for charity is if you deem the potential loss of interest sufficient enough that you wouldn't want to run said event.

It is a really cool idea and I would hope to represent the West when it happens.

Cooper, I agree with you to an extent, although Tracy spoke in front of the board and said he really only interested in running it this year and hoping the club would take it over and keep it going. As relation to our last board meeting, we are striving to have more stability and consistency with the KCFDC...

I guess that is what I get for not going to board meetings... I don't know anything.

Agreed. Let's get some more trees planted and improve our already excellent courses. Playing in an event as fun as this, I only need bragging rights. Kansas state will come out on top....again.
I think we can find 16 players without the greedy.

Nevermind, should have read further on.

Same weekend as the Frontier Open in Hays, which I do/will not miss. Hometown, and I plan on winning it one of these years.

I will still buy a disc if its going to trees.

Hays isn't on the PDGA calendar yet.  You're sure it's that weekend?

It's always the 2nd weekend of September.  Has been for 28 years.  Dynamic is running it, and its on their tournament board.

Sept. 15-16 has nothing going on.

I've only lived in KC for 5 years, so I don't know when tournaments traditionally are.

September 15th is the Tree Love Classic.

If Tracy would like to reschedule, that will be his decision.

even at 2 weeks out sh1t can happen, captains may need to find a couple of alternates to be able to field a full 16 player team, just think if one of your female players was whitney houston, eh, you'd lose an entire match or something over that. hey tracy, what happens if there's only 15 on our team?
