Seems like Disc golfers monetary contribution is all that's wanted!

Very correct, and that has never been a secret.  His idea was that ball golf courses charge too much for charities to make a good return, so this was his answer.  His goal was never to have it as a regular playing disc golf course, at least that is what I got when we discussed using it for Worlds in 2008.  This was part of the reason that he didn't want concrete pads out there as well.......

Enjoy it when you can, and be thankful he is supporting a few events a year, it helps maintain the need to not worry about public issues on a private course.....it is after all a private course, and its HIS private course in his backyard....would you like the looks of Tank or myself in your backyard everyday for 5-6 hours?

That's the most frustrating part of Thornfield... I LOVE the fact that we are raising money for a very worthy cause, but that is the only time we get to play/see the course. Seems like Disc golfers monetary contribution is all that's wanted!

Tank, this comes up ever year. I'm not sure the right solution but I will see Bill Stueck at an event tonight and would be glad to make an argument for more access. My position will be however that anyone playing our tournament could come play Friday betwen say noon and 6. If you are not playing in the tourney, pay a nominal fee, say $5 to play between noon and 6.  (The hours would have to be limited becasue he likely will want someone form the charity there the entire time and I only have limited time on Friday.

This is just a thought off the top of my head and responses are encouraged - tell me I'm nuts if you think so.

Man... Wouldn't it be nice if we had like 20+ courses in a 25 miles radius of KC. Then we wouldn't be so concerned about a 100% for Charity DG Course. Oh wait...

I can tell you from personal experience talking with Bill that he really doesn't have a desire to allow DGers access to the course outside of his events. Not to even practice. I would just let it be personally. I tried once to get a monthly league going, where half the money paid in goes to whatever charity he had chosen. He thought about it for all of 2 mins. before saying "You know what would be a good idea... Get some of your friends to come play in the (charity tournament name here) in 2 weeks."
