De Blizz-erd Plas-tique!

Okay. Picked up a 134 gram Blizzard Champion Destroyer this evening. I took it to a nearby park and without warming up, tossed it close to 550 feet on the first throw. No joke. It wasn't downhill, and it was WITH the wind. I threw it at Shawnee Mission West. I was standing in the field next to the parking lot and threw it toward the football field. It carried over the length of the football field. It had to be pretty close to 550 or better... Amazingly, it held up in the wind on the throw back. It carried about 500 into the wind. It tried to flip a bit, but held up. It behaved like any Champion Destroyer but with a whole lot more glide. A whole bunch more. Other than the odd feeling it has in the hand from being so friggin' light, it is pretty awesome.

So all of you souls out there who prefer lighter, this has just leveled the playing field quite a bit. I am going to try for over 600 tomorrow.

But what weight is best? I used to just get max weight because it was easiest...

I don't know which weight works best. Dickie P said he picked up a 150 BOSS, but i went with the lightest weight Destroyer I could find. Word on the street is that David Wiggins tossed a light weight BOSS and a KATANA over 800 feet.

I was trying to minimize changes in my bag, but this sounds like a must try.

Dick brought out his Boss, and Minna and I brought the Destroyer and Wraith. I got the Destroyer from #4 at Rosedale to the teebox on #1. Maybe a few feet short.

Minna got the Destroyer working for her and was clearing about 350.

I really couldn't get the Boss working.

I will say this... You MUST finesse the disc to get it to go. Otherwise a heavy-handed thrower is going to flip these suckers over. It took Minna about 10 to 15 throws to get it working for her. So take your time and you should see it work out.

So I have a 166g Star Destroyer that I got at the 2011 KCWO and since Innova says they make Stars in 168-175 (and Pro), I thought I would give it a try. 
After throwing it, I found it to be the most stable Destroyer I have every thrown.  It's definitely feels light when thrown, but meat hooks almost every time with a hard fade.  Somebody told me the lighter destroyers were more stable than heavier ones, which makes no sense to me.  But appears that I have provided some evidence that it does occur.  I'm curious as to what happens with the blizzard technology and you reduce the weight even more.  Do you guys feel that it's as stable or more stable than the "normal" weight counterparts?  How much further are you throwing with the blizzard vs. the reg. plastic for the same mold?

I threw a 137 blizzard destroyer today.  If I put max power into it, it turned and burned. When I did get a smooth release went a little further (15 ft) than my pro destroyer.  Might get better results with better form...
