Heading to Charlotte, NC
« on: February 11, 2012, 11:37:12 AM »
Hey everyone -

I am heading to Charlotte, NC next.  I already know which courses I am going to try out.  What I wanted to know is...

Are there any good eateries that I need to try?

If you like good beer then go to Taco Mac's. I think it is sort of a chain in that area but they have somewhere near 150 beers on tap and even more in bottles. Decent food, but great beer.

Will do...

Loomis, you and I talked at the Ice Bowl about which courses to play and I have a pretty good idea of of my schedule...unfortunately I cannot play more than one a day while there...you know, business trip and all.

Wish I could get there during Worlds...that would be a blast.

How long will you be there, Van?  I'm actually headed that direction and will be there next weekend (to Ft Bragg) and will be there for a while.  Might get to hit one of the courses together.
Sorry to hear about your luck!!!   :P

Dale - Sorry I did not get to meet up with you in Charlotte...I had 3 fun rounds while I was there (Renny, Kilgore, and Elon - Angry Beaver).  There are so many other courses to play, I will have to catch them next time I go.

As for places to eat...I only found one local place that I really liked...Mike's Speed Shop (Carolina style BBQ).  I didn't eat anywhere else I really recommend.  That is to say, they were ok, but nothing special.

NP...I hit Renny long and Charlotte's Web.  Talk about a noodle arm after that....throwing almost 4 miles in one day (18k feet straight line let alone fade/errant shots - lost my blizzard wraith on Renny).  I hope to make it back there to try a couple more courses if I have any time off while im here in NC.  I'll give that Speed shop a try if I do make it back.
Sorry to hear about your luck!!!   :P
