Kelloggs Company Picnic CTP event
« on: March 30, 2012, 11:07:44 AM »
Kelloggs has brought back the company picnic and is being held at E. H. Young Riverfront Park in Parkville,Mo. right next to Argosy Casino. The picnic is July 14th and I am asking the company to allow me to put on a CTP event as one of their attractions. This is a company only event BUT I am asking for club volunteers who are willing to help spread the good news about our sport, the club and the great things we do for the city. I hope to get club members willing to take time to help me. I have asked the club to put up a banner and looking for the club to donate the Wizards we can use for the event. I am planning on having a shorter CTP for the kids. I am getting the use of 2 portable Mach lll. All volunteers will be able to enjoy all the food and festivities offered. In years past we had a Nascar simulator, a jumpy deal for the kids, horse shoes, a miitary helicopter land letting people board and view the insides and take off, Riverside fire trucks and personnel, 2 Men and A Grill Catering, duck pond for kids, bingo, tug-o-war, face painting, pictures with Tony the Tiger and Ernie the Elf and I'm sure there is stuff I left out but I guarantee a good time. We expect upwards of about 500 people to attend but you never know how many will participate in the CTP event. The last time I did this Jack Lowe and several others in the sport came out to help and the response from the attendees went well.
I will need a definate head count at some point as they only allow those with wrist bands to enter the park. That head count can include family members of the volunteers. I will post more info when it becomes available.

This event is about 9 weeks away. I found out the picnic is from 11am-5pm. Any volunteers from the club will be appreciated.

Just one reply and no volunteers yet from the club. I've seen how people step up to help out and I'd appreciate anyones services for about 5 hours. The company just announced they are having a band. I work with Mike Quiroga's dad and G-I Dave's mom. I'm awaiting word from them 2 to help.

I'll be at world's Glover.  It is quite an event though, fun time to expose the game if you can help, you will have a good day (as long as it doesn't rain!)  ;D

That's my wife's family's Pow-Wow weekend. But, I hope you can get some assistance from the club.

Thanks for your help Sunday at the KCWO. We didn't even ask you and you jumped in to help set up merchandise with us.  Much appreciated! 8)

I think the company will need a head count in a couple weeks. If there is anyone who has the time to help. Now is a chance to step up. As you see from the original post, there are amenities to enjoy. It won't be as much work for the volunteers as what it will be for me.

Frontier Steakhouse and Italian Delight has donated certificates as prizes for the CTP competition. I have the prizes and equipment for the competition. Now I need some volunteers! Who wants free fun, food, music and an opportunity to talk about our passion of disc golf?

I need to know who to talk to to get the club's Wizards and 2 Mach III's. I need a time and day that someone can meet me where they are. Plus the club banner!

we have a banner.....we don't have any of this other stuff you mention, unless someone bought it over the last year....when I helped you out, we used my baskets, and combined our discs....some of which took years to return to you.....

Jack,

Did our banner make it back to storage?

Glover, Feather banners are at storage and regular banners are at Swope, which do you want for the event?

I guess the regular one would work best. Am I incorrect in what I heard when someone said the club had some Wizards to use for this?
Jack I knew we used our own discs. But I had no idea they were your baskets. Now I'm getting a little worried about pulling this off.
If anyone can allow me the use of a portable full size metal basket would be great. Pete offered one but I would like 2.
If I have to I will just use a few of my own discs, my Ching type portable and my Innova Travelers basket.

Your help will be appreciated. Anyone volunteering must inform me of how many wristbands they will be needing to allow family members.
