Good turnout for league last nightas we had 23 start, and 22 finish as we played a little Blue Valley.  Had a tough battle for the top as Jake Bowen had 3 Birds and shot a 52.....Jordan Hinck had 5 birdies, but had 5 bogeys to balance it out.  The new layout bothered a few folks, as the shots on #4, and #13 make shot selection a little bit diverse out at the "short course" of Blue Valley, but most agree its a good track to play on!

Results below
Open
Jake Bowen   52--$16
Jose Ossa   53--$11
Jordan Hinck   54--$9
Ken "Tank" Franks   55--$7 (I have it for ya)
Adam Cossette   57--$5
Lee Killian   58--$3
Pete Cashen   58--$0 (You gave it to Lee since you left!  :P )
Nick Parks   61
Matt Perry   61
Matty Hays   61
Frank Weaver   62
Chris Timko   64
Peter Bures   64
Greg Utz   65
Ryan Westa   66
Nick Altieri   67
TJ Ring   68

Masters
Jamie Danger   61--$9
Kevin Weiss   63--$5
Jack Lowe   67--$4
Bill Shinoski   68
Ted Keith   69
Jeff Davis   DNF

Below is the averages for the leage after 6 weeks, you need to have 3 leagues played at the NE league to qualify.  Currently this does include Cliff & Blue Valley, I will remove Blue Valley after we hit the 4th Month, and have an average for each course.  At this point the next Blue Valley League is in limbo based on the Wide Open the weekend before.  I will discuss with Ryan about where June 4th league will be.  The Ace Fund was not hit, so it moves up to $145

Here are the averages:
Name   Weeks Played   Average Score
Jordan Hinck   3   53.7
Jake Bowen   3   54.3
Caleb Walker   3   56.0
Jamie Danger   6   57.5
Nick Parks   3   59.3
Kevin Corbet   3   60.3
Chris Timko   4   60.8
Kevin Smith   3   61.3
Jack Lowe   5   61.8
Ted Keith   5   62.2
TJ Ring   3   62.7
Ryan Westa   4   63.3
Greg Utz   4   65.5
Bill Shinoski   4   66.0

Would you say par is 56 in that setup Jack?

I would......holes  (in this configuration of 18) #6 and #10 (9b if you must be different) would bt eh only par 4's out there, and there could be an argument made on #10 but its a shot up the gut, and then a placement to the basket.....#6 on the moguls is really the only "true 4" on the course out there in this configuration.  The only thing that may be different, and I still haven't made a decision is if #18 (#16 if you must....) goes to the short position right behind the tree.

I hear the concerns on #4 and #13 with a line to throw through.  I already felt as though that #4 has a line there but #13 it has grown, though Ted put it right through there last night and parked it........

I think that during the Wide Open in this configuration a 42-44 will be had without too much of a hiccup.....
Birdies that I think could be done on this set up.....
1
2
4
5
8
9
11
12
13
14
15
17

I think that all of those are reachable for the top level players, and those that throw Faaaaaar......I think again it will be interesting to see who shoots in the 40's at Blue Valley and then shoots in the high 50's or 60's at Blue Springs.....

I think you could add #3 to the potential birdie list as well.

no arguments, and after it gets a little cleaned up, you are correct sir......mistake free golf could get you a 40 out there now....if you got lucky on a hole.....a fairway ace that is.....#6 if you hit the clearing......#7 more realistic if you get your drive all the way down there very possible...#10 if you anny the heck out of it, and hit a 200' upshot........#16 if you get away with a roller off the road, and park it by the basket, though Kreeger has been hard at placing boulders up there and planting trees to prevent that shot.....and finally #18 I had a drive up to the edge of the tree there, and my upshot wasn't too bad (still blew the putt) but a good shot could be a birdie there as well.

So there you have it, you can now get all 18 on the "inner course" at Blue Valley! and shoot a 36.

Or get some aces and don't worry about the holes above!

Can't complain about #13 because you haven't mastered all your shots. I've birdied that hole the last 4 times I've played there with a tomahawk. Go out and throw 10 times with a Firebird and you've mastered the shot enough to use it on that hole.

Disagree. Tomahawks and Thumbers are not "Tee Shots". Yes they can be used and thrown, but a hole designed with that as the only true golf option is stupid. IMHO.

disagree, there are all kinds of options on the bamboo hole...

and if you think that 4 and 13 are "decent" holes and don't need some attention, wait til the complaining you will hear at the NT!!! I truly enjoyed playing little blue... I would play BV on a regular basis on that layout, big blue just isn't enjoyable to me...
I think that hole 4 and 13 are the only real issues... there's nothing wrong with making a small corridor to the green, risk/reward shot... and btw, I totally agree with Dick, If the only route off a tee, is one of those shots, there's an issue with the hole. said in my best 70's porn voice, trim that sh!t up!

In the videos of that hole I see a straight at it shot with midrange or a spike hyzer, or even an overhanded throw. And at least someone agrees with me.

And Jordan, I can tell Slim that it isn't a "tee shot" and he can still throw it off the tee and live happy. I am coming from a designer point of view. I am not going to design a hole that has that as an only option. We all know it is a players option.
