Like the Subject says:
Only July 3, 2012 at 5:00pm the Kearney Parks and Rec and the Mayor of Kearney, MO are going to be cutting the ribbon on the Newest course in Kansas City Metro, Jesse James Disc Golf Course in Kearney, MO.
I'm asking that anyone available at this time please try to come out and support this opening. I really want to show a taste of the Disc Golf community we have in town. The Kearney residents, from what I've heard, are really taking to the course and also the sport in general. They are very excited about Disc Golf and the Northland in general, if you haven't noticed, is taking an interest in our sport.
The Ceremony will last all of 15-20 miins. Immediately following we will head out on the course and play a round. This will be very informal so please either bring some people to play with or find a group and jump in. Even if you can not play I ask that everyone show their support by just being there for the Ceremony. After the sun goes down that evening the Parks and Rec will be having their yearly Fireworks display as well.
Directions to Jesse James from KC:
I-35N to Hwy 92 (THE Kearney Exit)
Turn Right (East)
At Jeffereson Street (3 Stop Lights, You'll see a Country V Mart on left) take a Left.
The course will be approx 2.5 miles on your right. You will see the course before you see the entrance to the park.
When you pull into the park continue to the very back of the park until you see the signs that say Disc Golf and Soccer Parking.
The Parking Lot is in the grass.

WARNING! There is still quite a bit of Poison IVY along the edges of the course. If you are allergic please take necessary procautions. BUJI is a great cream that helps block the IVY, OAK, SUMAC. The P&R are going to making an effort to try to eradicate as much as possible over the next year but this will take time so please be careful. If you stay on the fairway you shouldn't have any problems
