Does anyone have a baseball pitch counter clicker device?? I know we can tally pitches on paper, but in the "paperless" society...

How about a pitching machine, a practice net, or a dry-erase lineup board? I'm gonna need all the help I can get - turns out only three kids on this team have played baseball before  >:(

Thanks!

in baseball CD you still have to turn in a lineup to the umpire before the game.  You have to keep score on a scorebook, you use the scorebook to keep count of pitches.  Batting cages and Jugs machines are not cheap, and learning the fundamentals is all that baseball shuold be about.  You should also teach each child how to properly keep score, one of the best ways would be to take them to a game after showing them, then grade it afterward.  Also keeping the scorebook accurately will allow you to give out awards at the end of the season for the appropriate stat.

Baseball is almost only about statistics.  I mean in what other profession can you get multimillion dollars for doing something 3 out of 10 times?  if you can do it 4/10 you become a god like legend.

I've been scoring the last few years, and yes, we swap lineups with the ump and the other team. The pitching coaches worried about pitch count. I kept a legion of stats (other than pitching). I set up an eTeamz website  at www.eteamz.com/QCAACardinals008 (which may change names), and it does a lot of the stats for you.

Another reason I want Ulysses to continue with baseball... his average has been over .600 the last couple years, of course, I know pitching gets better as the kids get older. And, he could fly me around the country to watch his MLB games! If you're gonna dream...

Thanks Jack!

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again. Ohhhhhhhh, people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come.

$3.1 million is the average salary of a MLB player in 2008.  Nice paycheck, if you can get it.
Missouri....our state animal is sterile, our state rock is lead, and we elected a dead guy to the U.S. Senate.  Of course, he was the best candidate.

I was gonna ask who "Ray" was ("Well you can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay!") but then it hit me you were quoting from Field of Dreams -- great movie!!

A co-worker of mine has four tickets available for tonight's Royals vs. Yankees game if anyone is interested. I could meet you at Rosedale before league, or in downtown Independence before 7:00 (I have to be at Little League scorekeeping class tonight).

CD, where are your tickets?  A crew of guys that I work with are going, and I think we're in the Outfield plaza (damned ticket price gouging for Yankees game forced us there).
