Course Closed Septmeber 16-17 2016
« on: September 06, 2016, 11:04:13 AM »
http://www.prologuecycling.com/prologue-cyclocross-registration-open/

There will be a bicycle event that will be running through Blue Valley, namely holes 1, 10, 12, 13 on the big course, and about 1/2 of the Executive course.

Any damage to the course will be repaired by the group, but it is a positive activity within the park that we need.

Looks to be a pretty cool event, they are planning about ~150 riders on the course.

Come on out to watch!

There have been cyclocross races at Wyco a few times in the past several years.  The only thing that could be considered damage from those events was the matted down grass from all the riders doing multiple laps of the riding course they defined.  Nothing that didn't just repair itself.  :)

I went out to WyCo the first time they set this up and had a great time hanging out and watching. They had vendors and beer and it was fun to watch. Hopefully this won't do any major damage and we can all coexist successfully. The main damage the first time they did it at WyCo was a small mud patch near #15 fairway, but like Tracy said, it repaired itself fairly quickly. If you like riding, even casually, I encourage you to go check it out.

Ditto at Centennial in Lawrence.  Happens every fall.  Grows back in a month and you can't even tell.

No beer vendors though.
